CSRF token invalid or missing

I was attemting to assist a downloader with partial files I have for a download. Upon starting the downloader was sharing respectfully. Within 60 seconds the downloaders speed in sharing reduced to less than 0.5%. Downloader uses transmission software and his share is below 1.0.
In an attempt to to message the downloader from the link in my Announcements message, Upon hitting 'send', I received "CSRF token invalid or missing".
What is 'CSRF token invalid or missing' ?

Hi premier,
sorry this sat here so long. That message meant your login session had changed while the page with the message box was still open, so the send button still carried an old security token. We fixed this on 31 July: if it happens now, the site refreshes the token by itself, tells you nothing was sent and keeps your text in the box, so you just press send again.
