      However, if there is a seeder then why are you trying to request a reseed?

          @jokuihmemies Interesting!

          I've just switched VPN provider so I could enable port forwarding. A very large part of the driver for that was being unable to download torrents with only one or two seeders, and not being able to seed torrents where I was one of only one or two seeders and a leecher was waiting for ages yet unable to download.

          I've just downloaded the above .torrent and launched it. By the time I took a look in my qBittorrent client, it's downloading at 7mb/s. I have ten (of 124) people trying to leech from me, though no traffic as yet as I'm already uploading at pretty much my maximum to other torrents. Yup. just checked and it's still going - I've now grabbed about 5.82GB so far, with 21 people trying to leech from me.

          It may just be a total coincidence, of course, but I'm betting I'm seeing another proof that port forward capability is sooooo beneficial!

          If this is one you're trying to grab, I'd be really interested to know if you've now started downloading. I'm wondering if the mere presence of someone with port forwarding alone is enough to enable others to connect to the seeder, or whether people are only going to be able to get it through me.

          Other opinions are also available. They're not right, obviously, but they are available.

            @jojo2338 if you're on the mobile version the button will be buried waaaay down, after the torrent description and before the comments

              I occassionally get ones like that, and it usualy helps to take a look at the "Availability" entry in your client as well as the swarm itself. If availability is going up, and you can see others in the swarm are downloading then I just wait patiently. There might be something stopping me connecting directly to the original seeder even though I forward my ports, but once more leechers have the data I'll usually start to get traffic from them as the number of seeders increases.

                  In such situations where there are dozens of peers connected and no one is able to download, it usually means the seeder is too busy seeding other things and choking everyone else. This is why it's advised to only upload one torrent at a time.
