Do check as much as you can for obvious duplicates before uploading a torrent. They'll just get zapped, usually pretty quickly, meaning your efforts in that case have been for nothing. When considering if something is the same format, note that .mkv and .mp4 are considered the same.

Could any of what you have be considered "niche"? As you'll have seen, there's an awful lot of general stuff here for people to choose from, but if you have something more unusual there are bound to be eager leechers. Maybe upload a single file, or a small collection, and add a note in the description or as a comment like "Do you like this?" to see if you've chosen a winner, then offer more if you've got them.

Don't upload too much at once. Strike a balance between being a valued contributor to the community and making sure your own ratio reaps the benefits. While you're already uploading at your maximum speed most of the time, don't add new stuff just because you've seeded for the required forty-eight (twenty-four?) hours. Wait till activity on what you've already uploaded dies down, then add a new torrent if you want. That way, you'll get the maximum benefit from each torrent you share.

@Kevin4fm I’d really like to upload some content to the forum to help other users and earn points so I can download items from my wishlist. The problem is that almost everything I think of uploading has already been uploaded by someone else.
If I upload something very niche, I’m worried it won’t attract many seeders or downloads, so I won’t earn many points from it. Is there any section on the forum where users can request specific films or other content? If so, I’d be happy to focus on fulfilling requests and uploading those first.

@kail1029 Well, I doubt any site can guarantee to be 100% safe, 100% of the time, but so long as you're behind a VPN and don't post your real details here in public, it's a pretty reasonable bet that you are.
I've been uploading here for a couple of years without any problems. [Searches for a piece of wood to touch.]
One thing I forgot to mention - and it's a major one that many don't know about. A really good aid to torrenting is to be able to set port forwarding. This is not a facility that most VPNs offer / support. Check if yours does. If so, make sure you're using it. If not, before you renew with your current service take a look around to see who does and what they're offering.
I won't bore you with the details of why - in part, cos I haven't fully grasped the complexities myself yet. Suffice to say, it will improve both your seeding and leeching potential considerably.

@cinemaxos1 Requests of any kind are an absolute no-no, leading to slapped wrists, prolonged sessions on the naughty step, and outright bans for chronic offenders. So don't look for inspiration there.
Here's how I do it: I split my torrents - both those I've created myself and those I've simply snatched - into two categories. 'Short term' and 'Long term'.

Short term
I've got a large amount of storage space that gets filled with everything I've snatched that I'm not going to long term seed. I monitor this and delete stuff that is no longer seeding much when I need space for new stuff that will earn its keep. -
Long term
Collections of shows, and some very large 'Studio' torrents I've created, live in my normal storage structure and are available to seed all the time. Individually, most don't get asked for often, but because I have so many - currently ~320 - there's nearly always at least one or two that are quietly seeding away. There's an additional trick I use with this, which is something called "symlinks". This allows me to structure and name the files "in my collection" as I prefer, whilst still being able to seed someone else's torrent, no matter how ridiculous the file names, etc., are.
I can possibly think of another trick, but it's not one I'm likely best advised to share publicly. Feel free to DM me, if I've roused your curiosity.

@kail1029 Torrents appear at the top of the recent list, and in searches, automatically once they're 100% seeded. This can take a few minutes, or you can force it by going into the torrent to edit it, then ticking "Display now" or similar if you're too impatient to wait. (Not a suggested criticism - that's me nearly every time!) The upload form has changed a little with the upgrade, and I've not uploaded a new torrent recently enough to be able to edit it, so you'll need to look carefully to find the exact wording yourself, if needed. You can edit a torrent for up to a week, if I remember correctly. Obviously, this is limited to the title and descriptive text, etc., not the torrent content itself. I think you can also delete images you've attached. If you add more, though, these need to go through an approvals process before they appear.
The mistake I usually make, when wondering why on Earth my torrent won't display, is that after downloading and force rechecking the torrent initially, I forget to actually start it in my torrent. However, if you're already seeding, you obviously HAVE done this, so the torrent should appear after a few minutes at most. It' worth scrolling down the page a bit if you don't immediately see it. Several other people could have just so happened to have added their torrents just after you, so don't assume it will be at the very top.

If you have 5TB of video, you've likely been collecting for a long time. Since hard drives can fail, and you could lose some/most/all of it, I suggest keeping your collection on at least two separate drives.
It can be a pain keeping them synched with each each other, unless there's some clever software out there that will do it for you. (I've heard of something called RAID, but it seems expensive and I'm not sure I'd know how to use it.) Perhaps another member has a suggestion. In case it matters, my torrenting machine runs Windows 10.

@eobox91103 RAID is cool because it sums up the space of all drives into one single storage unit, where up to any 2 drives can fail at the same time without causing any data loss.
It's expensive in the sense that it requires at least 4 drives, from which two are reserved for redundancy. For example if you have 4 drives of 6TB each, you'll end up with 12TB of usable space.
You can have more drives operating together, but two will always be reserved for redundancy. Another example, if you have 8 drives of 6TB instead of only 4, you'd end up with 6 usable drives (36TB) and 2 for redundancy (12TB). Regardless of how many drives you run, you'll only lose data if 3 or more fail simultaneously.

i already uploaded 2 torrents btwOur site is as safe as we can possibly make it. With that being said, there are a few areas where our efforts alone may not be enough to protect your privacy.
If the video(s) you're referring to were downloaded from a site or studio that requires a paid subscription for which you have paid, there is a good chance that anything you download from that site is marked with an invisible watermark that ties that particular copy of the video to your account on that site. If you have paid for such a subscription and downloaded the video(s) in question from such a site, and you do not properly remove the invisible watermarking, it can be traced back to your paid account with that site/studio.
Also, we highly recommend the use of a VPN that does not log anything at least on the device for which you download and/or seed torrents, even if you do not upload anything new to the site. This is because when you download or seed a torrent, your IP address becomes visible in the peers pool to anyone else in the pool. There is no way for us to be able to prevent this. If there were, we'd already be doing it.
From your IP address, someone could in theory contact your ISP and obtain your information as the registered subscriber of the connection that had that IP address at a specific date/time. With a VPN that does not log anything, this adds a layer of protection to your identity by ensuring that your real IP address, and by extension, your internet provider, is not visible to just anyone in the peers pool, and that trying to get your information from the VPN provider would effectively be a dead end, as your VPN provider cannot give them information they do not have.
As for the site itself, we do not under any circumstances ever, sell, trade, or otherwise hand out information on any of our users. We have actually gone to great lengths to ensure that all our users are able to have confidence in and be able to trust the security of their privacy within the site. Any personally identifiable information (such as email address) are only visible to selected staff on a need to know basis. If you set your profile security setting to "strong", this will also hide your username when you give thanks (and even SBP) on a torrent.
As well, any information that ties your account on our site to any torrent that you are either seeding or leeching, as well as any information that links your account on the site as the account that uploaded any given torrent is also only visible to certain staff. To just anyone, the account that uploaded any given torrent always shows as "Anonymous". When a user presses the button to send you as the uploader a PM from the torrent details page, it will say they are sending a message to "anonymous uploader". In their sent box in the messages app, it will also say they have sent a message to "anonymous uploader".
There is one thing to be aware of though. There is one and only one time when your username as the uploader of a torrent will become visible to another user, but whether or not this information is shown depends entirely on you. If a user sends you a PM as the uploader of a torrent through the details page, you will only appear as "anonymous uploader" until such a time as you reply to the PM. When and ONLY when you choose to reply to the message will your username finally become visible to the other person. If you do not reply to the PM though, the message will forever show as being sent to "anonymous uploader".
So... The choice of whether or not to reveal yourself to another user as the uploader of a torrent in this case is entirely YOUR choice.
Lastly, as an optional security measure to help our users protect the privacy and integrity of their account, we now offer both 2FA and passkey authentication for your user account. When these options are setup, this means that even if someone were to get their hands on your password, your password alone is not enough to be able to login to your account, which ensures that they would also not be able to gain access to any information related to your account, even if that information is visible to you. With one of these options setup, the person logging in with your password would also have to have physical access to your computer, phone, or tablet, AND would also need to know the PIN/Password to unlock (or login) to that device, or would need one of your fingerprints (if bio-metrics is enabled on that device) in order to finish logging into your account.
