I always get this automated requests to reseed ending with : "if you can help out, it would be greatly appreciated.
Read more about how to reseed a torrent in our Step-by-Step Guide,"

When I click the link, no guide opens it brings me to the forum page and I didn't find any guide.
So how do I reseed ?
I can force a torrent to seed in QBitorrent, but is it enough? Anything else I need to do?

@Tomron20 If you still have the original files (in the same folder structure) you can just place them in your download folder and open the torrent in your client again. It should then recognise the files, determine that you have the whole thing (meaning that it won't actually download anything) and then it will seed them.

1- re download the torrent. You also wont have any peers.
2- upload the file if you have it in the same location where it would be downloaded.
3- Force-recheck the torrent , this time the file is there so the program will go to seed it (because you uploaded it on step 2). You should see the torrent as re-seeding

@tomron20 what operating system and torrent client are you using? if you're on Windows and using qbittorrent, you can try using a program I made for helping users start re-seeding automatically.

@Tomron20 You're right — that link pointed at the forum home with no guide behind it, sorry. There's a proper step-by-step now: https://www.gaytor.rent/reseedguide.php (keep your files, re-add the .torrent, point the client at the folder, force re-check). The automated reseed message links to it correctly now. Thanks for reporting it!

@ianfontinell yes, QBtorrent & Win 11. Can you share your program please?
If I left the files in the download folder, can't I just go to the torrent in QBtorrent and force it to seed ?

@Tomron20 if you add the torrent in qbittorrent and set the download location to where you already have your files, it will start seeding. but if you want to try my program, here's the link: Re-seed Tool for Windows users

Read the topic to understand how it works, after the program locates the torrent contents it will ask if you want to start seeding, and adds it to your qbittorrent automatically.
