@seshio17 It would be helpful to know which torrent you're talking about!

Sorry, unless you're talking about generally, and a torrent that hasn't yet been fully seeded at least once? In which case, uploaders get notified of any comment left on their torrent.

The uploader hasn't finished seeding it for 17 days, even though he's visiting the site.

I reported it to the torrent staff since they handle that.

I reached out to the uploader, he reported having a hard drive issue in the comments but I sent him a message asking for any update 🙂

I just thought I'd chime in on this. We have made some privacy changes worth noting...

On the new site layout, you can contact the uploader of a torrent from the torrent information page now. Regardless of your profile security settings, none of your torrent history is shown to other users. All users will show as "Anonymous". When you click the button on a torrent details page, it will say you're sending to "anonymous uploader". It is only when the uploader chooses to reply to your message that their username is then visible to you. This was done to make communication easier, and at the same time, keep control of your privacy in your hands. If you as the uploader do not reply to the PM, then your username is never visible.

On that note, we have made a change to the PM settings as well. Now, regardless of your profile security settings, there have been some changes to a few buttons. "Block User", "Add to Friends", and "Report User" will now appear for other users. As well, the "PM User" button is now linked to your PM settings. If you set your PM settings to "Everyone", then the "Pm User" button will appear when someone clicks on your profile.

If you only want certain people to be able to message you, then you can set your PM Setting to "Friends Only", AND set your profile security to either "Low" or "Strong". This will make it so that when a user (other than staff) clicks on your profile, the "PM User" button will only appear IF you have gone to their profile, then clicked on "Add Friend". This allows you to have better control over who can send you PM's, and makes it easier for other users to be able to contact you.

Also, if you only want staff to be able to send you a PM, set your profile security to "Low" or "Strong", AND set your PM Setting to "No One". This will make it so that the "PM User" button will only appear on your profile for staff.

                          Whap The User

i don't want to try on the risk that my message might actually be sent (and that wouldn't be a confirmation of what i'm about to say) but i have tried to PM a uploader a few days ago, I composed the message all nice and pretty and when I clicked the sent button it said that this person is not accepting PMs.

By the time I last tried this, it was already established that everyone would be able to PM the uploaders and that they would decide if they accept the PM or not, so I'm not sure if things have changed or if this is a bug. And in case it's a bug, I don't know if it's fixed.
