hello,is it normal that guu creates alot of uneccessary files, pad and such, torrent itself contains like 18 files but after creation its 52,pad and such?

-
@EugeneGabija-0 it is normal, padding files were introduced with Bittorrent protocol V2.
The purpose of padding files is to ensure that the beginning of every file will start in a new chunk. For now, it's not that important, and causes compatibility issues with crappy clients, so you can force GUU to use V1 instead.
Go to the settings, and then General tab, enable "Force legacy torrent creation" and your future torrents will not have padding files.

i have the latest version and there seems to be no general tab, should i just downgrade to v1 for this? -

-
@EugeneGabija-0 General tab is in the Preferences, i said settings by mistake, go to Toos > Preferences > General

@EugeneGabija-0 this is what i was referring to when i said crappy clients don't go well with padding files. You should consider switching to a more modern/recent client like qbittorrent.
-
@ianfontinell-0 could you please refer me to a qtorrent setup tut how tos setup torrents in qtorrent for gay torrent?
-
Seems not to be working again.
-
@geniusacamel Hi, sorry for the late reply. What is the error you are getting?
I just tried uploading a torrent from my end and it worked fine. -
@vancer the GT server was refusing pictures, it was not restricted to your software, QTM and manual torrent upload were not working as well, the issue lasted for almost an entire day, but it's all good now.
-
Thank you!
-
Hi i just wanna ask why the app is not recognizing my uTorrent. When I try to upload, the torrent is uploaded but i cant seed it
-
@chromsome12-0 Hi, thanks for reporting this. I'll assume you are using the latest version of GUU (v18), if not please try updating and check again. It would help if you could check the following for me:
- Have you selected uTorrent as the torrent client in the settings of GUU?
- What is the text next to "Torrent Client" in the status bar on the bottom?
- Which version of uTorrent are you using?
-
@vancer Hi, just came across this tool but was wondering is there a guide on how to use it as I can't seem to find it (might just be me!)? I'm keen to try to use it as I'm using Qbittorrent.
-
@guya-0 Hi! Currently there is no full guide on how to use the software aside from the few notes I have in my initial post that I suggest you read.
Aside from this the usage is pretty much straightforward, although if you have any questions feel free to DM me! -

@vancer Finally tried to launch GUU but it just shows 'checking for updates' then disappears/crashes! Its the latest version & I'm on Windows 10 & latest Qbitorrent. Am I doing something wrong?
