Uploader on a torrent is default anonymous. What is the reason for that?

Curious to know. A few years ago I uploaded a torrent and I commented on the torrent's page essentially revealing that I am the uploader. Is it a privacy issue?

@Kekkaishi The uploader's name seems to be replaced by "uploader" in the comments here lately. Does that resolve your concern?
