Bad Uploaders?!

Leatherbear took care of the situation and the uploader is now seeding all new torrents. He will seed them all to completion. Based on his internet speed, this will occur within the next 24-36 hours.

i think, we could have some "karma" system which would be automatic, 'cause, as we know, users don't care to vote for anything

It really is odd.
There will be hundred of downloaders but only four will take a second to hit even the Thank You! button ???
Glad to hear that Leatherbear has taken care of the situation and have noticed some movement on this torrent.
Thanks again all.

I can feel the pain. One vid I chose to download was only about 650MB. It took nearly FOUR DAYS to download. On top of that, the file name of the video only shows up as "7.mp4", not what the torrent title was. It took me quite a while to go back and actually find what the torrent name was to match it to the file. (I like to keep things consistent to help avoid duplicates, etc.).

With the changeover in the old Torrent Approval System to the new Auto Approval for all but brand new members this uploader has fallen thru the cracks and created a huge mess for our membership that are leechers on his uploads.
I think there are many more who have "fallen through the cracks." I was wondering why several uploaders were seeding several new uploads simultaneously rather than following the rules the rest of us had to in order to qualify for Auto Approval. I guess that designation has no meaning now.
The main reason I enjoyed this site and used it so much was because the content was controlled/moderated well. Now it has fallen to the same low standards as the other torrent sites.

Hi Guys,
In response to these complaints about the new Auto Approval for everyone :
Staff is well aware of the new set up problems this system has caused. It really has not created new problems but has made public the problems that always existed and the Mod's had to deal with under the old Torrent Approval System.
I can assure you all that we are discussing the solutions for these issues and formulating an attack plan to help resolve or at least lessen the issues. I can tell you our best option, with the current tools we have at our disposal, is to verbally warn first and then remove the members Auto Approval Status so that future uploads go thru a Mod Approval Process.
Discovering these issues is a different story.
The best way for members to assist in this new learning curve ~ especially our old AA Group members ~ is to report any and every torrent and /or user that you know or feel is violating our Rules. Literally blow up the "Report Button" so that Staff can deal with the situation thru educating the member about the problem he has created. If he does not learn and correct the situation then we will continue with removing the Auto Approval at the very least. Severity and repeated Rules violations will always carry the worst result possible ~ banning the account.
These changes were deemed necessary for the future of GT.ru and we will and have been working to "Plug the Cracks" and continue to be the Best Gay Torrent Site in the world. This must be a Team Effort between Staff and Members at this point to work on the improvements we need to make under this new Auto Approval for everyone.
I hope no one is angry or insulted by my post ~ I am just stating facts and hoping to clear up confusion.

 Teamwork = Success
:thx: you all for supporting GT.ru,
leatherbear

I'd add that we scan daily the torrent list for not completed uploads within the given time frame (72 hours maximum, if multiple uploads).
Only very few are found, less than 1 per day, i.e. less than 1%.
The very large majority of torrents is completed with in the set target of 24 hours. The rewording of the rules regarding the allowed number of parallel new torrents uploads is not meant as reduction of standards, but adaptation to the new situation that torrents go live immediately.
At the same time we scan as well for not completed uploads / interrupted uploads and follow them up. Something we didn't do that closely upon.

Andy, LB, Uwe, and the rest of the staff, you are doing an excellent job! I suspect there are only a few users who realize your workload and the strains you have to come up with, all for their advantage. The fact that there may be some bad uploaders who are willing to exploit the "cracks" in the system, does not diminish the quality of your work. It's about time all users showed some responsibility. I'd finish quoting LB: Let's make GT.ru "the Best Gay Torrent Site in the world"!

Basically I am with GTru staff to drop the mod-approval. I remeber what a drag it was for me when I uploaded my first torrents and I can only imagine how much work it had to be for our Mods to screen each and every upload. Being the positive person that I am I think there aren't that many uploaders that mean harm. The majority is most likely underinformed and just wants to share their files and/or improve their ratio.
I am happy to hear from leatherbear that the main goal is basically to just turn the former approch 180°.
Trust the GTru members first and those who violate the new rules loose their auto approval rights.
Banning members should be the last resort. While I think I reported more uploads in the last month then in the last three years I still think that thats just temporary and new uploaders will soon read and follow the rules.

Between loosing the torrents auto going live (approval is no longer the right word) and getting banned are many steps of warnings. If a member gets banned because of duplicate uploads or too long initial upload times, he must really targeting it.
Uploading torrents for banned content or not seeding them to completion is a more severe infraction (first to the site's and members protection, later to the share ratio of members) and therefore a more straight route to getting warned and banned.
I'd even say:
"Let's make GT.ru "the Best Gay Torrent Site in the world, together!"We need the members help and feedback

Andy, LB, Uwe, and other members of the GT.ru staff,
You're doing a great job, and I really appreciate the work that you put in, especially educating the newer users (one of which used to be me). I, too, believe that everyone wants to do the right thing, and that there'll always be the exploitative ones. Let's not let them spoil it for those who are doing their bit to make this the best site.
