Of course flaming or insulting repeatedly other members leads to a ban, too.

While I would say that over 90% of the "banned" members are duplicate accounts being deleted (remaining one account of that member), there are other possibilities, like auto banning.

Members can ask to delete their account themselves for what ever reason at any time ( http://tracker.gaytor.rent/delacct.php ) and 60 days after that action all data will be purged, which will show in the Log like:

System: Banned User {user_nick}({user_id}) Deleted [60 days after banning]

This can be due to frustration about not being able to meet the minimum ratio requirements (my guess the most cases), fear of xyz, changing mind, upset by other members comments to his uploads, what ever …

In addition there are other rather theoretical possibilities for bans, like any multiple times repeated infraction to the set of rules (I don't speak about duplicate upload attempts) . Fortunately after a warning, usually the message passed and as far as I remember there were not any of this cases during the last months

not all accounts that are listed as banned, are really such. when i started to handle duplicate accounts, i didn't fully know what this

banned list will act like. (when admins have some time, i will ask them to clear the banned list, to avoid misunderstandings). actually,

as Uwe already wrote, the system doesn't distinguish between self-deleted and banned accounts, so sometimes you can see a lot

of 'as if' banned accounts in the log. don't be afraid, it's not that bad as it looks like

Banning for flaming and the like is rare.

99% of staff banning is for technical reasons; ie ratio cheating and duplicate accounts.

Can someone explain ratio cheating so that I never end up doing it accidentally (if that is possible)? Is it like using a seedbox? Thanks.

There are two possibilities :

Either you do it on purpose and then you know it
or you use a bad torrent client, here I think especially to Thunder (sorry don't know it's Chinese name)

Actually UWE, I think he meant (or at least I thought he meant) what is considered "ratio cheating"? Not that I want to know how to do it (my ratio is not a problem). I was just wondering what acts are considered "ratio cheating".

Ratio Cheating is when the the torrent software reports false data to the tracker, making it look like you have a better upload or ratio than you actually do.

Or, along side the torrent client you're using a special "accelerating" software, which alters the data sent by your client to the server and increases your upload amount and speed.

I've seen one of these for uTorrent (very old versions, bellow 1.5). But they're usually easily detected, so try them at your own risk

Luckily, I have no need for either. I started using a seedbox months ago and have been thrilled with the results.
