ROFL - I have voted for exactly ONE Democrat in over 40 years:
- Against Trump
I voted for Bush/Quayle in 88 and 92 (even though Dan Quayle never saw a foot too big for his mouth!)
I voted for Dole/Kemp in 96 (with great pride! Dole was a great citizen & patriot!)
I voted for Bush/Cheney in 00 & 04 (even though Dick Cheney was scary as a VP!)
I voted for McCain/Palin in 08 (even though Sarah Palin was a laughing-stock candidate for VP)
I voted for Romney/Ryan in 12 (even though I would have preferred the ticket of Ryan/Romney!)
I voted for Trump/Pence in 16 - because who could possibly vote for another Clinton!But I couldn't overlook Trumpism in 2020 - It was just a bridge-too-far for me!

I've never said you had to have a 100% Republican voting record to be a Republican... but I do think that if you're over 30 and the FIRST - nay, the ONLY - Republican Presidential Candidate you've ever voted for is Trump, then you're not a Republican, you're a Trumpite.
Those aren't mutually exclusive terms - many Republicans support Trump, but not all Trump supporters are actually Republicans.
Look, my older brother is a Trumpite - in part because he's an Anarchist (believes that ALL kinds of Government are inherently corrupt and bad.) He's not a Republican - and doesn't claim to be - but he still supports Trump (and also believes The Big Lie)... (you can't choose your family!)
I will also add: my brother also believes Trump is corrupt - he just appreciates that he's so open about it! But more importantly, he loves the chaos Trump caused (still causes?)

I have noticed that our resident fake conservative has derailed this conversation in order to protect his beloved "big tech" from being criticized for being politically biased.
The topic, he doesn't want us talking about, is that YouTube suspended Sky News Australia for posting factual news, at the time of posting, but has now changed according to the WHO, CDC, and whatnot.
YouTube has not done this with liberal outlets that posted the same stuff.
So, why is SNA guilty of spreading false information, the same information that liberal outlets posted at the time, but the liberal outlets are not equally guilty?
SNA posted the "correct" info as the "facts" changed, just like liberal media outlets.
Typical liberal hypocrisy.

I know this will be a shock to our outside readers, but to make sure it is clear:
I, personally, have no role in the decision-making in Google-owned YouTube
With that out of the way, let's look at the facts:
- Sky News Australia was not banned from YouTube. What really happened is that one channel of the network was suspended from YouTube for one week for claiming that COVID-19 in Australia "was not serious" and that "lockdowns have not worked."
NOTE: It's hard to find reliable, factual sources for the exact content of the video(s) that triggered the action (called a "strike" by YouTube - it takes 3 strikes in a 90-day period to get you actually banned!)
This would be the equivalent of YouTube temporarily blocking a YouTube re-broadcast of Tucker Carlson (sorry, I'm just picking on him because I know it will inflame @raphjd LOL) for a week.
Sky News Australia is a cable news channel (owned by the same parent company as Fox News in the US, and closely affiliated with the British Sky News network - all Murdoch-family owned outlets).
Losing access to YouTube is far from "canceling" the channel... they still have a small handful of cable-tv (and because things are different in Australia) over-the-air viewers... (he said sarcastically)...
IMHO, YouTube is treating this as a public-health issue, not a free-speech or political one. (Akin to the traditional: yelling FIRE in a crowded theater is illegal because of the extreme danger to public health, not because of a desire to stifle speech about rapid, incandescent, oxidation.)
What's more, by treating Sky News Australia the same as the guy in his garage claiming that "the vaccines are re-programming your DNA so that the deep-state can read your thoughts" - is far less hypocritical than ignoring it - because it's a large news outlet - would have been.

Finally, as I made clear in my earlier post: my brother is an anarchist. But to clarify for you even more: if Biden was "creating havoc and chaos" and making all the "corrupt politicians pull their hair out", then my brother would be for him. Actually, he (my brother) was quite disappointed in Trump: he thought he'd "sold out" in the end... that Trump had "started being just another corrupt politician" by the end of the 2020 campaign. He (my brother) chose not to vote in 2020 (like he used to do, before 2016). Who knows how many others like him there are...
