If I get a reseed request, and I reseed it, should I send a message to the requester letting him know I did and it's good to go, or is that not necessary?  🙂 Also, this is a stupid question but do I need to be logged into the site for my uploads to go through my account and effect my ratio, or will that still happen even if I am not logged onto the site (was never sure about this). LOL Thanks.

Although a nice gesture but no need to.

Just as long as your computer is running where your utorrent client is installed. Your ratio will move improve IF there are leechers in the torrent(s) you are currently seedings but you continue to accumulate SBP.

The bonus is computed on how many hours you leave any files on ‘seed’. For every hour you have a file (or multiple files) seeding you get .5 points for every hour. In other words you get ONE point for every TWO hours you seed!

I've been away from this site for about 10 years so I had to create a new account, and I have a 1 TB drive full of files that I once downloaded and/or uploaded from this site and from eMule. (My once uploaded torrents now appear as uncredited).

Does it make sense to reseed long dead torrents that no one is leeching?

If I reseed a long dead torrent that hasn't any leechers, how do I let people now that I'm reseeding it?

Where do I find a list with reseed requested torrents?

Cant I just download the files again and then just let my box seed and seed and seed?

              Hi!
Your steps are pretty clear, and I've done as said, and though everything seems to be OK, there's no upload speed at all, even though it was a requested torrent.
In fact this happen with almost all the torrents I download from your site, the download speed is awesome, but no upload at all. The curious thing is that this is not the case with other torrents downloaded from my other reference site (gay-torrents.net), they download and upload equally well. Is there anything I'm doing wrong? or gaytor.rent torrents are special?  ::)
It's a big petty because I don't mind seeding for long times at all, but with this 0 upload, my rating always goes down  :-[

              Thank you!!!

                @Pawpcorn:

uTorrent will automatically FIND the file you put in your normal porn download folder, run a CHECK on it (it should check to 100% if it's a match) then start seeding it

Is this seeding method only applicable for uTorrent or can we use other BitTorrent clients too like qBittorrent, etc?

I am currently seeding 35 files but only 2 of them are displayed in my profile statistics.

I use qBitTorrent. I downloaded the torrent files again and made them point to the files I previously downloaded.

In some cases the local files are renamed so I remapped each of the torrent files to the actual local file names through qBitTorrent. qBitTorrent then checked the torrents successfully and marked the torrent as seeding.

Does anyone know why only 2 of the 35 seedings are visible in the stats?

As of this reply, you are not seeding any of your completed downloads.

Sorry, I'm new here. How will I know if my reseed request has been fulfilled?

The file I'm attempting to re-seed is somehow .01 GiB off from the one I seeded from, so I'm stuck at 99.9%. Will the requester still see that this is available? (It is fully functioning - I'm not sure what the issue is.)

If you downloaded a single file before and has exact match copy of what you are trying to seed, it will remain 100% completion…
But if the file has any other attachment [like screen caps or pictures] that has been deleted or remove, then it will stays incomplete
and it will not become visible to others…
Unless you will create a new torrent and seed the file that you own...

This has happened to me multiple times and I can't seem to figure out the issue.

I received a reseed request for a file that I uploaded.  When I follow the reseed steps and it should go into "checking" it go into "connecting to peers".  It is the exact file that I uploaded the first time so I don't understand why it isn't checking and reseeding.

                            Any clues?

If it is the exact path > file folder name [match copy],
It should seed as long as you point in the right path folder location…
and if not it will established a new peer...

Stop the torrent, remove and delete the torrent [not the file folder]…
Once force-recheck is done it will show 100% completed...

That is the thing, it is not establishing the new peer.  The only thing I can even try to figure is that these were created prior to the new search feature.  I don't know if that would change anything or not but prior to the change, i never had a problem reseeding my torrents, now I can't get any of then too.

@vinoario1 said in RESEEDING!!! A SHORT / CONCISE TUTORIAL about HOW to RESEED!!:

Does it make sense to reseed long dead torrents that no one is leeching?

It depends: is the content good? Lots of lazy, crap uploads out there.

If I reseed a long dead torrent that hasn't any leechers, how do I let people now that I'm reseeding it?

Spend some bonus points to make it freeleech for 24 hours. It will get at least some customers, guaranteed.

Where do I find a list with reseed requested torrents?

Unknown, so I would refer to the first point above: if you think the content is good, then you will find it worthwhile to keep it alive. Your effort, so, your choice / your judgment.

One potential tip for anyone having trouble:

If you happen to be in the fairly rare situation where you're trying to reseed a file from a Windows/Linux machine that was originally downloaded to a Mac and the force recheck doesn't work, the file will need to be reuploaded from a Mac to be reseeded.

Some Mac files still use resource forks... I think MP4s especially. I just had a reseed that was stuck part way through even though the whole file was there after uploading from a Windows machine.

I paused the torrent, deleted the file on my (Linux) seedbox, and reuploaded to the seedbox from a Mac, rechecked again and the recheck completed at 100% and the file is now being reseeded.

                                        Hope this helps someone.

@pawpcorn I tried the steps but I get the following message: Torrent 'NAME' is already in the transfer list. Trackers haven't been merged because it is a private torrent.

On the torrent presentation it shows it is no longer visible (dead)
