Suggestions on Ratio?
-
From what I can see now, everything is looking good on this end. There aren't many leechers on the torrents that you're seeding, however it would appear that you are seeing upload traffic, even from those torrents. This suggests that the port forwarding that you did was indeed the problem. When port forwarding is not properly set, most often you can only upload to peers that you're actively leeching from, because otherwise, it is incredibly difficult to be able to get an incoming connection.

It is all in the design and operational rules. As a user, you have entered the ratio gloom.
The idea of competing for the "free leach" program is entering into a competition with all other users. Nothing good will come of it, just wasted effort and traffic paid by users who contribute the free leach.
The systems gets you on the hook by escalating the required ratio, as you become a "user". That way, when the meaning of every % of ratio becomes a huge obstacle, user is stopped and forced to climb another impossible step.
Pawpcorn advise is not practical. It does not help if you avail all your downloads for fellow users. They do not have the ratio that allows them to download, so the files remain static for days.Of course, you can upload. But that is not a real option if you count the number of daily uploads.
Of course, you can pay for your rights. The only solution to this situation is removing two words from the rules.

Just a side-note… You received a low ratio warning and continued to download torrent after torrent after torrent like it was going out of style, then you complain that you downloaded so much that you dug yourself a 22 GB hole?
We expect all users to follow the same standards, and it is certainly not our fault if you do not listen to the advice you are given, and heed the warning that you need to get your ratio back up before you keep downloading more.
It would almost seem like you expect to just freeleech everything for free, without any expectation of sharing any content back in return.

I didn't know if this was directed at me. If it was directed at me, yes, I received a low ratio warning. I always try to be a responsible downloader and will always seed more than I can. In fact, in my uTorrent program I have it set to prioritize seeding and to seed up to x5 times before I start throttling any more downloading. I actually thought I was doing the right thing by aggressively targeting new files to seed, since the old files weren't getting me anywhere (and that means intentionally taking an immediate hit of downloading a popular file so I can immediately start seeding it). If I just wait for my existing files to seed, then … that might take who knows how long? I know I download files that aren't that popular, so waiting for those files to be leeched by other users might never happen when I would rather help seed immediately-desired torrents. Hope that makes sense. I really wouldn't want anyone to think I'm trying to freeleech without responsibly sharing any content back! As I mentioned in my original post, I make it a point to seed. And with another popular gay torrent website, I have an x2 ratio on a far larger amount of uploading / downloading and I've never had an issue with my ratio which is why I was so puzzled with my experience on GT.ru.
With that said, I'm proud to announce that in the past week, since opening my ports, I've lifted my ratio from 0.780 to 0.816 and I'll continue to lift it as high as possible.

Nope…. Definitely NOT directed at [you].

I'm pleased to say that my ratio has been steadily going upwards. I went from 0.78 to 0.87 ratio (not easy when you have a base of 1 TB!)
-
I'm pleased to say that my ratio just hit 0.90! I'll eventually get it to 1.0
-

Then my efforts were not wasted.

-
LOL Not at all. It's a slow but steady process, I just hit 0.907
-
I'm slowly climbing up. Current ratio is 0.937!
-
EXCELLENT!! ;D

- I never complained?
- I never participated in this thread?
- How much I upload/download is ultimately irrelevant provided I stick within the rules.
This is why I dislike participating in communities… As despite trying to add something constructive to a discussion... Someone has to have a whinge about it elsewhere.

If you never participated in the forum thread, then why are you commenting on it now about how you don't participate because "someone has to have a whinge about it somewhere"?
That comment was obviously NOT directed at you, but rather the user that I was replying to. Why suddenly make this about you? Are you trying to get attention? If so, there are much better ways…

From what I saw:
This topic was very helpful to the person who created it. He had a problem and found out how to fix it in a way that was satisfying.
This topic is helpful for people in similar situations who want to make honest attempts to improve their ratio.
People who aren't interested in sharing are complaining even though this has nothing to do with them. -

Unless I missed something, you mentioned me and linked to my profile, ergo, I assumed you were pointing the stick towards me.
If I got that incorrect, then I apologize. And I quote:

I have (in my opinion) a terrible ratio of 0.8 with 900 GB Uploaded and 1100 GB Downloaded.
I'm not new to torrenting and I've been a member of the site for a long time, but I just don't get it. Here are things that I do to intentionally improve my ratio:
1. I target and sort by torrents with low seeders / high leechers that are new.
2. I target freeleech that have a lot of time left and a lot of leechers
3. I minimize the amount of torrents that I actually want
4. I uploaded my first torrent of a pretty nice collection
And yet, my ratio hovers around 0.8.Even right now, I'm targeting a file that has a S/L ratio of 1/46 and yet … I'm not actually uploading anything to anyone, just downloading and killing my ratio. I've always been proud seed back to the community, and on another popular Gay Torrents website I consistently maintain higher than a x2 ratio (with much more volume, something like 3 TB Uploaded) and my uTorrent is set to prioritize seeding.
I'm frustrated. Based on my metrics on the other Gay Torrents website, I can and know how to maintain great ratio. But then I come over to GayTorrent.RU and my ratio is in the toilet. I've clearly seeded a ton and want to seed a ton, and I've read ALL the guides I could find on GayTorrent.RU but I just don't know wha telse to do.
Even though you have a red reputation.. It's only a short red line.. so there is hope for you.. so I will try to help you out.
You have the right idea about getting a good ratio, but just the idea is not enough. Your #1 strategy is probably a waste of time. #2 is almost correct, but instead of focusing on how much leech time is left, focus on how NEW the torrent is. The reason is - most people don't bother looking at torrents older than a day or two old - so even if that torrent has a week of freeleech time left on it, people are not going to find it after a few days. I'm pretty sure that as long as someone starts a download during the freeleech time, it continues to be freeleech even if the freeleech time expires for that torrent… so if you were downloading a freeleech torrent of 100 gigs.. and the freeleech time expires in an hour... as long as you start the download before that hour expires, you get the entire 100 gigs for free. #3 is not necessary unless your downloads are not completing.
#4 what you consider a nice collection might not be what others consider a nice collection. I tend to only download torrents that feature performers, action, and quality good enough to make even straight men get a boner. I would like to see what you uploaded.. and also what performers and studios you think are popular. Studios are probably the best indicator for how good a movie is. I have seen the SAME performers in scenes made by one studio that are great.. who then go and make a scene with a studio such as Lucas Entertainment or Maverick Men or TimTales. But.. you can't overlook any studio.. because even the smallest studios have some unique gems. Every studio has their own unique "style". Maverick Men can't be completely ignored because they have a few Chris Crocker ("Leave Britney Alone!) gay porns - which are not great, but unique because they have Crocker in them. Lucas Entertainment has a knack for ruining the scenes no matter what performers are in them. Out of every video TimTales has ever made, they ALL suck.. EXCEPT for those with JOAQUN SANTANA. TT has some scenes with Hans Ebson and Darius Ferdynand, but those two performers have worked with a LOT of studios.. and done much better work with them. Then there are special cases such as gay porn star Sam Ritter better known in mainstream movies as Stephen Geoffreys (Stephen denies doing porn - uh huh.. that is about as ludicrous as Tom Cruise and Justin Bieber being straight). Geoffreys was a major TV and movie star in the mid to late 80's in films such as "Heaven Help Us", "976-Evil", "Fright Night", and "Fraternity Vacation". https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=Stephen+Geoffreys+as+Sam+Ritter&FORM=RESTAB
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0313267/
I mention people like Crocker and Geoffreys, because the most popular videos by far are those of mainstream celebrities who dropped their pants. A LOT of Disney actors wind up dropping their pants.. as do pop stars such as Joey Fatone. I expect that one day some video of Bieber bottoming for a black guy will pop up on the internet - once he no longer has the money to pay off the people blackmailing him. The way Bieber thinks.. he might post a video like that HIMSELF just to grab the attention of the media.I have some questions for you.. your upload speed is not too fast.. are you using a VPN proxy?
Also.. who is your ISP? Some ISP's block or throttle torrents. Brighthouse / Time Warner did that for MANY years up until about 2 years ago - and they always denied it. You should test your internet speed while torrents are active. and when they are not. If your speed goes to a crawl while active torrents are running, you are being throttled. Throttling pisses me off.. because it amounts to an ISP advertising high speeds.. which are only high if you DON'T TRANSFER FILES! Their high speeds are only good if you do nothing more than surf the internet websites.

You have misinterpreted the underline link of Mod MrMazda which shows the name of the individual user when he is reading this topic. For example the link shows kalayaan on my screen because I've opened my account and reading this topic whereas you will see Femalite if in case you are reading this topic again

Oh, so the quote was meant for everyone but it so happened that my username flashes on the post?
i get it now. i got scared too. LOL
