Americans have gone mad (at least about 60.000.000 of them).

But he… America got the President they voted for and they deserve.

I pity them, but at least we know what makes America great:
Racism, Hatred, Xenophobia and kissing Putin´s arse.

I am thoroughly disgusted.  To think that in this day and age we can elect a bigoted, racist, xenophobic, homophobic president with a right-wing, evangelical, bible-literalist nutjob of a vice president is beyond me.  Everything this country stands for has officially been thrown out the window in favor of this creep.

Our only hope is somebody assassinates him (and Pence), the republican moderates in the house and senate keep his antics to a minimum, or he does something stupid (which he will) and gets himself impeached.

I don't think so: recognising problems is important.

            As far as I'm concerned:

            • dictatorship in thought has always brought bad results (aka gone mad, assassinations and all that)
            • the denial observed in Europe will lead to its collapse if a change will not be correctly handled
            • this is an unexplored path, no matter how controversial a first step is, it's welcome

Though the campaign was filled with unprecedented negativity, and even though Trump seems to be one of the most unqualified to hold the position, I really hope for the best for America and by extension the rest of the world. The only reason outsiders care so much is because the influence of America is felt all over the world.

May the new President overcome his failings and rise to the job. I still need to recover from the shock.

              Ditto.

I gotta say, though, I was really drunk last night (personal reasons, not because of the election. Just good timing there) and felt a lot more open to the idea of silver linings. I woke up this afternoon feeling as if I'd come out of a nightmare. Now that the alcohol has worn off, the gravity off this is starting to sink in. His temperament just scares me so much in terms of foreign policy. But I am also hoping that his victory has been sobering, and that he realizes the importance of his position.

I am not going to engage in partisan bullying and all that shit. I didn't vote for either candidate, and I wouldn't have been happier with either being elected. I am going to remain open-minded, but that doesn't change the fact that I am still pretty worried. If no other good comes of this, I'm likely to be a lot more involved/vocal than ever before in checking the President-elect on his bullshit (same would've been true of Hillary, though), because I am determined not to let him make a catastrophe out of his presidency. I am not going to be outright obstinate (I loathe divisive, counterproductive partisan obstinacy and pettiness), but I'm no longer going to be as complacent and apathetic as I have been historically, having always hated politics to begin with.

Please don't be everything the Dems said you'd be, Trump. I am hoping he realizes his position, tones down his insolence and rhetoric and finally becomes more presidential. One reassuring thing is that it does seem like he's been doing so gradually. He's toned down his overall arrogance and oafishness considerably since last year. Not nearly  enough, but enough to notice. So here's to hoping for continued personal progress on his end. If he doesn't shape the fuck up, I can at least take solace in knowing his insolence will not help him to accomplish anything, and he'll be a lame duck president.

                @dist:

At least SNL will have plenty of material for the next 4 years.

I do love Alec Baldwin's Trump impression.

PS: Sorry for double-post. I dunno how to delete and amend previous posts… Mods, feel free to punish me. :police:

Ok Trump is a master in recognizing problems, but also a master in not having any solution that is going to work.

But because Trump recognizes problems, he is worth your vote?

That I don't get from the Trump voters. The man is rambling on, names a few problems and some unworkable solutions and they vote for it.
Clinton is by far not the best thinkable candidate, that I admit. But Trump is so far worse.

An answer to this would be affected by many many personal opinions developed during years of my life, god bless you if I skip xD

An opposition reassured by years of stable political terms and convinced to win by the media skeptically accepts a defeat like this.
What I wanna state clearly is only that he won; now he deserves a chance and his office deserves respect.

Taken that any past president has been normally able to achieve only a partial amount of promises
(heard ~75% on average just some mins ago… Is this right ?) :
we do not know what his primary objectives are, as we did not know with any other president.

Any assertion on his declared plans is an unabashed strongly opinionated judge.
No matter how someone is skilled or experienced,
no one is actually able to give a judge on something that no one is able to know and that is yet to happen.

If repeal of LGBT rights (marriage, adoption, use of preferred wahsrooms, option to say they are gay/straight/bi without fears of being "cured"), then yes, America will be "great again".

The worship of Hisownself. That's it. He thinks that Second Chronicles is pronounced 'two Chronicles'. He is a fraud and a con man. But then, we recently had a smirk-faced frat boy in office that went, 'Mission Accomplished'. Perhaps the Evangelicals have finally found their Anti-whatever.

Bitter. Yeah, a bit. But not nearly as much as fucking depressed.

                                Cheers

Some of my friends told me to be careful since it looked similar to fascism at the beginning.  I don't really know
much how Hitler acted in WWII, and I will check when I have the time.  But on the last day of the campaign at one of
his rally, I recognized the way he talked was just exactly like the communists.  He said something like if Hillary win,
the system win; but if we win, the people win.
