Ethics 101? What's mine, what's yours…

No preaching here. Just the somewhat rhetorical question of taking someone else's materials and making them yours. I really enjoy the pics that have been posted on this site and certainly don't want that to stop. Many of them are obviously collected from such sites as xtube, and others. Is it okay for someone to collect the pics of others and turn them into a compilation that they then upload and receive credit as their own? I don't know. I'm no friend of big business so not thinking of commercial sites. I'm thinking of those that you and I have uploaded. That fact that this happens has changed my posting habits. I literally have a hidden cam tape that I made for myself and swapped with only "friends" that is for sale on one of the commercial sites. My email to them has gone unanswered. I wouldn't have sold it because I don't want the publicity. None the less, they are making money off of my work, my time and my risk. Comments appreciated.

I am not sure I understand the point of this question at all? I am sorry that you have had a problem with material that you shared with friends being sold by someone else now for profits and that you do not receive a share. This sounds like a legal issue that is an entirely separate issue from the posting that I and others share here on GT.ru. I certainly am not profiting from my posting pics that are garnered from other web sites and then posted here for our members to enjoy. I have never claimed credit for them as being mine in any way.
Sounds like you need new friends and an attorney to me.

good advise! i'm not in any way faulting you and my comment was not aimed at you directly, I assure you. it was rhetorical. i was feeling phillasophical at the time and expressed a question of ethics that may/may not have been of interest to others here. the part about my own material being stolen was merely an example of what can happen and the consequences of such. i'm not bitching and have no intentions of taking any action. i continue to post. i enjoy the freedom of this site and would not want to hinder it in any way. sorry if you felt i was taking a stab at you. i assure you i was not.
