      @NickGWM:

I'm somewhere close to your opinion…

I find cliched tattoos the worst (e.g., tribal designs, bear paws).

I can deal with small or simple ones on the arms, but when they start getting bigger and are elsewhere on the body, they are a major turn-off for me.

I like skin; I like how it looks.  For me, the vast majority of tattoos ruin that.  If I want to look at art (and good art) I don't want to look at in on your art.

AND if you have tattoos of different colors, the ONLY way you are going to keep them those colors is if you almost always keep that tattoo and your skin out of the sun for the rest of your life.

For me the stupidest thing about tattoo is so many of them are based on assumption, a wrong one, that you body is never going to change shape or that you are going to get older.

Since you seem to be a daddy . . .

There was a video I loved to watch of a suited daddy getting sucked off.  I watched it many times over the years.  Finally I saw another video of this daddy where he gets naked – AND HIS WHOLE LEFT LEG IS PRACTICALLY COVERED IN TATTOOS.  I was devastated.  I can still watch the clothed video but . . .

I must say it's very disturbing to read that anyone could be thrown off by a tattoo. That to me is extremely shallow, especially if you find that same person attractive. I can find reason in someone not liking multiple tattoos that cover a large part of body and I respect that. To find them distracting? Umm, sorry but no. Where are you even looking at? I'd sooner be distracted by someone's hair style than by a grotesque tattoo.

For me tattoos enhance a person's physique and give it another level of appeal. Quite frankly, the more the better. I have none on my body, but would certainly love to have them, as well as on my partner. However, I would never feel devastated if someone I find attractive didn't have them.

Just like solemnly said, I too am sick of comments that claim someone's body is ruined by tattoos. And most of the times it's muscular guys with a body you can only dream to have.

I think in many cases tattoos are a sign that the guy has an inferiority complex about his masculinity, so he needs to 'toughen' himself up.

Tatoos, no thanks, specially tribal ones. I have one big reason to hate them, I don't have a nice & clean skin, I have marks from acne in certain places on my body, and I dislike it, so I hate specially these guys  with no marks or scars in his body, with a smooth & nice skin ruined with his "cool" ink shit (in the 80-90% of the times, with tribal, name's,etc that are far away to be considered art)

Don't try to assume things you know nothing about.

I have a lot of tattoos. I didn't get any of these to toughen up myself. When I'm out in public, I tend to hide my tattoos. Not because I'm ashamed of them. I just don't want people to ask me questions what the tattoos are and why I got them

I got my tattoos for myself. not for an image or a validation

                  PS: Women get tattoos too.

I swear every post I have seen you make on here I'm in agreement with.  Plus you use Linux and like older men.  What's not to like?

I'm beside of every man with tattoos in this world. So, cheers guys, you did a great job  .

I always think that tattoo is work of art and I always admire people with high sense art, like I love movies and musics as an art outcome. So, when it come to art, its always beautiful, whatever it is, its always beautiful.

Women with tattoos are entirely different and more horrendous ballpark.

You can do many things with your life – and that's great.  There are people who put bones in their noses and plates in the mouths, too.  I'm sure it attracts certain people looking for that kind of thing -- which is a minority.  When someone says, "Hey, I don't really care for guys with bones in their noses" it shouldn't be utterly shocking or offensive.  To me, a tattoo is nothing but a self-induced permanent rash. And just like I wouldn't be too thrilled about hooking up with a guy with a rash on his ass, I wouldn't really care to find a tramp stamp either.

Maybe in the porn world, but the people I know don't give a crap what people think about them.

My tattoos are about my life and how I feel about things.  It's my story, if you will.

No doubt. All my ink has special significance: either to memorialize a unique event or in tribute to another. For those that indulge for purely decorative reasons, I say good for you too!

Its neither my place nor desire to pass judgement on how one lives his/her life or how they choose to express themselves as long as they can respect others' right to do so as well.

I've mellowed out quite a bit when it comes to tattoos (I used to be really anti)

I still tend not to like them, especially if they're huge and/or rather… sudden but a few small, tasteful ones can look pretty good (I'd never have any though)

                                One or two are sexy.
Guys that cover almost 95% of their bodies with tatto is not a pretty sight (at least to me).

Tattoos in a certain spot can make me taste the vomit in the back of my throat but that's only because they are in that certain spot that mine is and I am reminded of the experience.

Yes.  Apparently I chose one of the worst places for mine as far as nerves or some such.  I went into shock mid-way through the ordeal & started to convince myself it would be 'just fine' half finished.

For the longest time after getting mine just looking at any tattoo could make me nauseous but that has passed, now just where mine is & necks make me queasy.  I have also been known to laugh loudly when I hear people say "they don't hurt".  I know pain having suffered through low back pain for many years and walking around on a broken ankle for a day before deciding maybe a doctor should look at it.

I would recommend first timers go for the fleshiest spot they can.
