@ianfontinell ikr, I was expecting that comment . I was actually in the middle of setting everything up when a storm hit and the Wi-Fi cable got damaged. Everything ended up being stuck like that. A technician is supposed to come and fix it, but it'll probably take another 2–3 days.

Search for Freeleech torrents
Sort by most Leechers
Download a torrent that has a lot of files
In your torrent downloader program (I use qbittorrent), first stop the torrent, and then select the particular files you want to download. In these huge 140+ GB torrents, you don't have to download everything; just pick a few files you'd like to see.
The people who download all the contents will be able to leech onto you when you've seeded your files.

You can also select newer freeleech torrents you think might be popular and get in on the seeding ground floor.

@cinemaxos1 In that case even if you had good ratio you wouldn't be able to download anyway. Besides the message that appeared (the one you posted at the beginning) tells you the choices you have.

Welcome aboard. Short version: ratio is how much you share back versus what you download. New accounts get a bit of starting buffer, and the trick is to keep seeding what you grab and look out for freeleech torrents (those don't count against your download). The folks above gave you good tips too. Shout if you get stuck.

@cinemaxos1 Hi. One thing that others didn't seem to talk about is Bonus which is actually pretty useful when you start;
If you keep sharing torrents you have finished downloading you'll get SeedBonus points even if no one download the file you are sharing. This help keep torrent alive but also you can use those points to "buy" uploaded GB in your stats.

If you keep sharing and no one download anything and reach 350 points (you already have 40) you can buy 5GB of uploaded for your stats. You would go at 7.5GB and 17gb downloaded which would be a ratio of 0,44 and fix your issue.

Staying in sharing mode might also give you some upload GB if someone do download what you are sharing so win-win. So download freeleech files only for a while and keep them in sharing mode until you may buy some upload

@proulx Absolutely! Many are quick to dismiss the value of Seed Bonus Points simply for keeping torrents available should someone want them. I'm currently on about 7000 SBPs. Sure, some of these have been kindly gifted to me by members who appreciated one of my uploads, but the vast majority are from seeding torrents.

Of course, there's a cap - I think it's about 40 points per day - but it adds up surprisingly quickly, and as you say it's a service to other members who might want to grab a torrent you're seeding.

It's worth thinking about which torrents you continue to seed. You get the same bonus seeding a torrent that has no other seeds as you do seeding one with 100. Of course, 100 seeders suggests lots of people have wanted it, so it's more likely that others will too, but it also means you'll likely only get a small share of the traffic. Seeding one with only one or two other seeders, it might not be grabbed so often but when it is you'll likely get a far larger slice of the pie.
