Second delete attempt

@frostycab Interesting. I can't either. Yet I feel certain I've had the option before. It seems hit and miss, but maybe I'm confusing comments on the main site with posts here.

@Kevin4fm I don't know this particular forum software, but I can say that on another site, deleting the first post in a thread is reserved for mods/admins. The reason being, when a first post is deleted, it deletes the entire thread, including all the replies. This has been the same with 2 completely different forum softwares we have used over the years. If it were allowed, some pissy posters could kill dozens of interesting replies either by accident or on purpose. So we don't allow that delete option for regular forum members.

@Dracula975 That certainly makes sense to me. Though if there are no replies - just the initial post starting the thread - that wouldn't be an issue.
My test was triggered by someone posting a request, so I wondered if it could be deleted, once it was known that's against the rules. Except, of course, by telling them that by way of a reply saying "uh-uh", there's now a reply so it's no longer a virgin post that could be deleted.
Hmmm. I think I'd better go see if I have any of my tablets left.

@Kevin4fm nah im no special i cant delete stuffs in test area also but i can delete posts and whole thread in other sections like "Who Is This/What Video Is This", "General topics"

@jokuihmemies You must be somewhat special. I don't get the Delete option at all. Also I only see the Edit option for about an hour after posting, then that's gone. You have both options even after 20 hours.
My guess is there may be a member level achieved after a certain number of posts, or it may be tied to reputation. With that, they're allowed to "Delete" and Edit doesn't disappear.

maybe mod or joker can answer this if they know better

@Dracula975 The "Edit for only an hour" option is deliberate. And, while it has annoyed me now and then when I've spotted a typo way too late, I think that's a good thing.
I also think not being able to delete a thread once there are comments on it is also a good thing. Maybe I should just not have started this testing nonsense and left things well alone.
Though I am intrigued by the notion that things might work differently in this test section than elsewhere. That seems the complete opposite of what would be desired!

@Kevin4fm go to general topics and start a thread of something ure interested to talk about and test at the same time
