@raphjd no matter how much you try to inflate the very minuscule number of people who change their mind as some sort of clarion call we all must heed, the warning of which demonstrates some huge horrible medical mistake affecting people everywhere, you can never erase the thousands more, many more, who successfully undergo these treatments and have no qualms about it. As already discuss, liberals are weak on crime until 25 because the brain isn't fully developed. So by your own standards, you are performing sex changes on mentally deficient people.

If a serial rapist can't go to jail because he wasn't 25 when he was finally caught, then the same standard needs to be applied to sex changes.

But by your own logic you're not applying that same standard

So the serial rapist wouldn't be punished for the criminal actions they wanted to take while under 25, so why are the 95% of likely successful transitions being punished for the criminal actions they want to take (If transitions were banned?)

Your comparison is rubbish, at best.

If the brain is shit until you are 25, then people should have to wait until they are 25 to do adult things.

If the brain is wonderful at 8, then allow anyone 8 and over to do whatever they want.

If an 8yo is competent enough to decide to take puberty blockers because an 8yo brain is so wonderful, we don't we allow them to become prostitutes? Why don't we allow them to vote and get tattoos? Why don't we allow them to get genital piercings?

You refuse to answer that question.

@raphjd imagine if you were a man trapped inside a woman's body. Think about the level of psychic depression that would bring upon you.

Would a tattoo help you change your outlook? Would being a prostitute help you change your outlook?

Probably not because neither of those behaviors are ones that really help to counter a deep seated depression arising from being trapped inside a body that you don't feel is yours.

Getting a tattoo and being a prostitute are respectively, frivolous and potentially infectious. Maybe that's why there's age limit to those things (for prostitution, at least in Nevada... I don't believe there's an "age limit" anywhere else for that). The benefits to transitioning care for someone who feels trapped in their body is enormous and easily justifies the age restrictions already in place

@raphjd dealing with a person's mental health requires a level of a dynamism (AKA skirting age requirements when the benefits outweigh the detriments). That dynamism is vacant in your cookie cutter approach to age limits.

I'm not saying cookie cutters are bad... they work wonderfully for a whole lot of things.

There are very few things in society that should broach our standardized cookie cutter age limits that we have in place for things like voting drinking driving etc. trans care is one of them when it's done in capable hands, not the ones of the horror stories that you've heard about ...people who change their minds, they probably weren't in capable hands, unfortunately for them.

Just like people who die in plane crashes ....you would think gosh those planes crashing, that really should have been fixed by now..... yet they still crash... but each one makes us safer.

@raphjd those 5% of change their minds should not want us to stop transcare .....they should want us to make transcare better.... Better at identifying those who are more prone to change their minds, better at identifying the ones who aren't really sure.

Wouldn't that approach be beneficial for BOTH the 5% and the 95%

We don't let a kid get a tattoo, not because of the possibility of infection, but rather because it's basically there for the rest of their life.

Let them live as the sex they claim to be until they are a legal adult when their brains are fully mature and they can make proper decisions.

If the brain is shit until 25, as liberals claim, then so be it.

You liberals created your own trap. You say that 8yos are mature enough to make life-altering decisions, but at the same time tell us that the brain is crap until 25.

You want to trans kids as early as possible and be extremely weak on crime.

Welp, what about all the correcting appointed sex surgeries on intersex people that went by during decades? Wait what about guys who need mastectomies to remove boobs? Wait what about girls who need hrt because of hormonal imbalances caused by genital disorders? How exactly are gender afirming care that exists for cis-kids any different than the one for trans-kids? It isn't like this surgeries started this year, they have decades of data, you want percents... Only 0.04% were registed to de-transition... Trans are the new scape-goat, that is all, and gays are next they are already calling dragqueens groomers so it's just a question of time.
