Do chat/messages on the forums notify on the main site (and vice versa)?

Just wanted to know if receiving a chat in the forums also sends out a notification on a user's end should they only ever be active/checking on the main site.
Same for the other way, if getting a PM on the main site give a user a notification should they only ever be active on the forums.

The forums and torrent site have separate messaging systems.

@raphjd since the forums are a separate site, would it be possible to request assistance from mods/admins to facilitate some sort of contact with another user? Or is that too much of a hassle? I got a PM on the torrent site but I can't reply as my account is still new.
I sent out a response via the forum chat but the user hasn't gone on the forums for years, despite being active on the torrent site. Just a heads up to them from the mods that I'm only able to respond via the forums would be wonderful

Getting fed up of having to scroll through the same posts each visit? When you register for an account, you'll always come back to exactly where you were before, and choose to be notified of new replies (either via email, or push notification).
