What exactly is a - ahem! - snatch?

Just curious about what a snatch means, and how it differs from the number of Seeds and/or Leeches. Is snatch the total number of unique times that file has been downloaded? That's what I THINK it may be, but I'd be interested to know for sure.
Was looking around the forum for some sort of terminology page, but didn't find anything. Is there a page that defines all the technical terms used? As a non-techie, I would find such a page interesting.

Hahahahaha… I've always thought this term was rather giggle worthy, as a snatch is synonym for vagina.
Now in the case of this site, when you "snatch" a torrent, you are said to have finished downloading 100% of all the files of the torrent.

Yes… We call it the BitTorrent glossary. It can be found under the Guides section of the forum in the sticky topics.
