I've seen 4K (2160P) torrents of non-porn and a single episode of a series is nearly as big as the whole series in 720P (my preferred resolution). For example: Iron Fist, Marvels's latest Netflix outing, the largest episode of TrollUHD's 2160P release comes in at 26GB (the full series is just shy of 290GB). The whole series in 720P is 35GB.

Id prefer my porn in 720p and preferably in MP4 format, or even an mkv container since i can easily convert it without losing much picture quality.

Not really… I'm out in the boonies in the bush out in the sticks, so the only way that I can get 1080p HD is to get not one, but THREE oldschool ADSL2+ COPPER DSL lines (Not even FTTN) and bond them together using MLPPP. Given the cost of being able to get a fast enough speed to be able to stream 1080p HD as it is, I can't say that I'm really looking forward to 4K or higher resolution because I simply do not have the internet link speed to handle it.

Since I'm frequently watching TV shows (series), I've seen that some people make 1080p x264 videos into 1080 x265 videos (they say quality is the same, sometimes even better but file size is much smaller!).
So what do you think about that, could you convert 4k and higher qualites into x265 having same quality with much smaller size?
I'm not converting files so I'm not actually familiar with all these terms (x264, x265, 4K, 8K, etc…) so I hope I'm not talking some nonsense right now! ;D

Yes, 4K can be converted to x265.

I agree with everyone else, Max 1080p for movie torrents (YIFY quality), 720p for TV series torrents.

I downloaded a 4K x265 1 minute sample that clocks in over 600Mb… it's too big... plus, I don't want to wait 2 years for porn to download, I want to watch it now >:D

Those will be ratio killers. Also, if you don't have a really big screen, you won't be able to tell the difference between 4K and FullHD most times (IMO).

As a techie, I can honestly say 4K porn would be overkill, especially whole movies. Not to mention very few people could afford to download/upload that kind of content on here, without taking much of a hit. If anything, I would moreso be looking forward to:

More high quality content shot in 60FPS
More content shot in either 1080p or 2k (2560x1440)

With faster links downloading and uploading is not a problem (I have 100/40Mbps unlimited data, in Europe 300/300Mbps is available, in the US even higher). Storage is also cheap.. $50 / TB here.. much less in the US.
I already have some UHD/4K porn, mainly Helix. It is great to watch but sometimes too much resolution and detail is not good. Every ingrown hair and blemish is visible.
A bit like 3D porn.. I kept getting distracted from the 'action' by what was in the distance and the surrounds.

You'll find that most porn is now shot in 4K then edited and downsized to suit the delivery system (DVD, BluRay, download, streaming… whatever).

absolutely not. I already boycott all 1080p torrents : way too big : cost too much ratio and money ( storage place) for what it is: just porn.

for me it is the same reason as the quoted message. i prefer the 720p. :cheers:

I disagree. Storage is about the same price than at least 2012 ( WD 3To cost around 110 euros, was 120 5 years ago). I have optical 500/200 at home, doesn't change a thing as long as most people use adsl.
