I'm itching to just talk to someone again, is there an IRC not hosted here (given that there were security concerns which is why it was removed) that we can all go to? :hug:

The entire chat was not shut down… Only the chat web interface. If you want to use the regular GT.ru chat, you can do so with an ordinary chat client such as mIRC or xChat. The information you need is as follows:
Regular IRC
Server: irc.gaytor.rent
Port: 6667
Channel: #gaytor.rentSecure (SSL) IRC
Server: irc.gaytor.rent
Port: 6697
Channel: #gaytor.rentThe security problem wasn't in the chat itself, but rather had to do with the way that the web interface worked. So, it's not entirely true that we fully pulled the plug on the chat. The IRC has always been available and still is.

I'm having trouble connecting to irc by ssl.
I tried both with unix/linux shell (Irssi)
And with mIRC
Both fail to connect by ssl
Any advice?

I seem to have no trouble at all with it when using XChat… It should be cross platform.

Thanks a lot, it works beautifully. And it supports a bunch of plugins too !!
It seems that the issue with other clients is related to an expired ssl certificate,
the connection is successful choosing to ignore it
