Post the last movie you've seen and how you rate it

One to watch for, thanks for the heads up

Saw Fantastic Beasts. Posted the gay angle in the not themed sub section but putting a rating here as requested.
It's better than Strange in terms of magic use so I'd give it a 8.5/10. The romance was cute but almost childish/childlike so slightly took away from the adult feel I wanted. It was really good with effects and the story. Slightly annoyed with Tina but loved Queenie. Special effects heavy but that's expected.

... it's an adult fairy tale with an adult setting, a slight adult metaphor with discrimination that could be taken as gay (but might not) but Rowling suddenly went for a super simple romance in here. Not very realistic but very cute, haha. One of my favorite parts, not the second one though.
On the magic, it's actually got more magical action that Doctor Strange to me, and more than a regular Potter movie too. I guess American wizards are more free. Loved it. Great variety of magical beasts but I'm annoyed that I can't get everything Eddie mumbles about. Familiar spells are used, which is awesome for Potter fans
A slight downside for me is Newt is so capable and awesome with creatures that it takes away from Hagrid. To be fair, Hagrid wasn't a very good caretaker for magical creatures anyhow, haha. No, Hagrid isn't in the movie.
Loved the effects for the monsters, even biggest one. The music was very manipulative but admittedly very good too. Hated the guest star but that's me.

Thank you 4 this. How about Eddie Redmayne as Newt?
-
Eddie as Newt kept doing this mannerism thing where he smiles but doesn't look the person in the eye. And he mumbles so I don't get the stuff he says. He's a good and brave but not much of a personality yet. His passion is understated.

Strange Days (screenshot attached).
A former cop turned a black marketeer of SQUID discs attempts to uncover the truth behind the murder of a prostitute.
A bit cryptic: may have been developed in more details; the story has a clear moral for a watcher used to cyberpunk literature.

And your rating for Strange Days ?

And your rating for Strange Days ?
7.5/10 the story is well arranged, the flow goes on, the plot is grippin, but the graphic shows the movie is dated '95

Then I feel it would be rude not to download it

The Bachelor Weekend (The Stag) (2013)…probably my 3rd time watching it!
7/10 in my opinion :D–a totally enjoyable movie…funny throughout, with some moving moments that had me weepy--discoveries are made, secrets revealed during a weekend outing together, resulting in a bond that brings six guys together in a closeness that none could’ve of ever foreseen.
Trailer, additional details and full movie…

Absolutely Fabulous The Movie :cheesy2: But I would rate it 6/10, because it's kinda slow and for the real diehard fans…

_Another version of the 1925 and 1959 movie. This time Jesus Christ's face is seen and with a little more scene of him. There are characters which were not included in this version and a slight happy ending twist. Personally, I enjoy this movie.
6.5/10_

Whiplash (2014). A decent 8/10.
-
I like Miles Teller in that movie and I thought he should have earned an acting nomination
-
Agreed! Miles Teller had his best performance to date in Whiplash. Intense!
I just finished 10 Cloverfield Lane and give it a well deserved 8.5/10
The acting was very good, and the whole movie kept this feeling of claustrophobia and suspense going. It's almost like watching a play with 3 actors- carrying everything with just their dialogue and presence. -
Lars and the Real Girl (2007)…4th time watching it--at least!
"Official" trailer - https://www.youtube.com/embed/XNcs9DrKYRU?rel=0&wmode=transparent&border=0&autoplay=1&iv_load_policy=3
Maybe not a typical Ryan Gosling movie, but still near the top of the list of my favorites of his!
After seeing it so many times, I still enjoy it–laughing...and still a little weepy at points. (This weepy thing's got to be some kind of male menopause deal…it seems to come on much too easily.)
Anyway, I give it a 7.5/10 :clap2:
I actually liked it so much again, that I decided to spend the points to share it if you're interested…
Enjoy!
I "cheated" a little bit in that at the time of this post (before this edit) I was only halfway through the movie; but now having finished it–I still love it…the only difference--I don't remember bawling through it as much as I did this time…definitely has to be some hormonal thing…yup must be the start of _man_opause or something.

Teenage Kicks 2016 6.5/10
This is the full length version of the short film Drowning 2009. About a teenage boy whose world is turn upside down at the sudden death of his older brother. Then, there is his bestfriend and his girlfriend.
Nicely acted movie, Miles Szanto reprises his role as Mik (7 years difference and still, Miles can passed as teenager), and shows his dick. The rest of the cast were new (e.g the role of his bestfriend, Dan played in the short by Xavier Samuel is now portrayed by Daniel Webber)
