If one can choose to be gay than one must be able to choose to be straight.

Sleeping with the same sex doesn't make you gay, being in love with the same sex doesn't make you gay. Finding the same sex attractive in an erotic/sexual way and not the opposite sex attractive in an sexual way is what makes you gay.

A man can sleep with every man he bumps into that doesn't mean he is gay.

A year ago, I didn't think I would be bi. I had experimented with solo masturbation videos but I realised that I was actually really attracted to bears. I had really thought I was straight but I had never really been around the type of men I was attracted to. This made me really confused and I thought really hard about whether I was always bi the whole time. I've accepted that I really must have been bi the whole time although it feels a bit weird. True that. But you can ofcourse chose to belong in a culture. But then you are just pretending. Although that does not need to be right or wrong, it's just you wanting to try a lifestyle. But in the end instinctually you are not gay.

This question, when posted, was right on topic due to that nasty lesbian saying that we (LGBTS) choose to be gays because we want to be anti social.

I think we choose to act on our attractions I also believe I could be content in a platonic marriage with a woman but I'm glad of the times that I do not have to be. In short I don't think we choose to feel attractions to our own gender but I do believe that we choose to act on that attraction. I do not however think its genetic or at least it can't entirely be genetic (see twins one gay one not).

They still haven't proved that being gay is in our DNA… But I, too, don't believe it's a choice.
A lot of animal species have "gay sex" but most animals can't reason therefor they can't choose to be be gay or "have gay sex" it's just the way it is.

There are lots of theories about why/how do you become gay? Unfortunately, no one can answer simply this question. There are almost as many theories as there are gays/bi/lesbians...
