I'm an Asian American and if I'm being honest, I can see why some Asians prefer white guys over other Asians. I think it's due to the dearth of attractive Asian men in the media. Honestly, I can say I've met more attractive Asians in real life than I have seen attractive Asians in media(be it porno, film, tv, or ad, or magazines). That makes it hard to prefer Asians when all you see is attractive white people in the media. Western culture seems to like perpetuating the stereotype that we Asians are nerdy, submissive, and boring. That and the small penis stereotype makes Asians seem like the opposite of this masculine ideal we have, which makes Asians appear very unattractive to whites and Asians alike. Personally, I would never date someone who was old or ugly just because he was white. I feel like that type of Asian doesn't exist anymore though. At least, not in my generation. When I see an old white guy with a younger Asian, the Asian is generally very feminine and unattractive for me. I find that our generation of Asians is more "americanized", and frankly, more good looking; I see a lot of hot Asians in my classes and such, and it can make you appreciate the attractive features Asians can have. I prefer both races equally; it's more about attractiveness for me. I also can't stand the idea of "rice queens" because I feel they like you just because you're Asian, and they want you to act a certain way(i.e. submissive bottom bitch). Same phenomenon that can be seen in white men that exclusively date Asians.

I'm an Asian American but I find that many people in Vietnam on dating apps are looking for older white men, specifically sugar daddies, so some of it could be a money thing. Tried the sugar daddy thing, didn't like it. Although, I definitely was getting more hits from older white men when I was younger.
And up until 4 years ago, I was attracted to everything but Asians. Come to find out I was looking in ALL the wrong places lol
FYI my husband of 8 years is black so this is definitely not always true
