To be honest, a lot of jobs could already be replaced with simple (pretty dumb) automation. In the UK at least, I've definitely seen a surge in replacing cashiers with automated tills.

Always considered this kind of theories mostly as a convenient way to make yourself a victim and consider everyone else as responsible for your mistakes.

I do wonder what would be next tho, since theories are transient. What could happen if a part of what we know was wrong all the way?

I watched a couple hours on YouTube so I could fast-forward through the breaks and such. I have to say that several of the politicians on both sides licked Zuckerberg's balls and threw him softball questions/comments. Zuckerberg lied about Diamond & Silk.  Assuming that nothing changed since last night when I went to bed, they still haven't heard from Facebook about being banned from the site. Of course, Zuckerberg only agreed to go in front of Congress if it was NOT under oath. He also didn't answer in open session any questions he didn't like.  He said he would reply later in writing.

Eating an intelligent animal is barbaric, fuck peoples customs. Goes for people who hunt whales and dolphins too.

@cteavin: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/oct/27/japanese-student-sues-over-schools-order-to-dye-hair-black I know this exists but here in Tokyo, the students have a special marking on their ID's indicating they have naturally brown hair. And you think they're worried about North Korea. I'm both surprised and not surprised by this tbh. Japan is an unusual country.

@vaylon: I think they run stories like this to take attention from all the cop shootings in the news. It astonishes me when cops are praised and awarded for doing the job they are paid to do. Here's an analogy… "Miriam Flerd was given the key to the city and a parade in her honor for escorting children safely across the street on their way to school all year long!"  Sounds great.. but if she is employed as a crossing guard, that is hardly something to praise her for.

@inkball: Wonderful news! This shows how both men and women benefit from feminism.  LOL.  You really need to look into what feminism is truly about. Why did feminists fight to prevent the UK from equalizing the retirement age and making sex crime laws gender neutral?  Not to mention countless other examples.

America has gone shit bat crazy at the moment. Trump is getting rid of anything Obama did. Even the good stuff. What most Trump supporters don't seem to realize is that when net neutrality laws were made it also came with a big bunch of money to providers to get our out of date systems up to modern standards. Now they don't have the rules but still get to keep the money they get from the government.

America is becoming a very strange place with the way its society is evolving.  Things like this will be happening more and more and there is nothing that can be done about it. Just a couple of days ago there was another school shooting in Kentucky. The biggest problem we have is the NRA. They have way too much influence on government. The truth is, if all the laws that are on the books were enforced? things would be better. But the NRA fights every effort to enforce laws like background checks and waiting periods. I have a lot of guns. Mostly from inheritance, but I still won't give up my guns for anyone. I do have them all registered, even my assault weapons. We have also helped a lot of gay friends learn how to arm themselves and use them for protection.

they are both racist… but hey people have different opinions... some of those are wrong of course. in the end i never used dove products and i do not plan to start now. in the past i loved to eat white mill biscuit... a brand owned by barilla... and after their homophobic view i just stopped buying any barilla products or other brands owned by the same people.

A follow up to a prediction I made in one of my top news stories. Today, January 21 2018, the Turkish government invaded Syria - not to fight ISIS - but to fight Kurdish forces who are in theory their ally against ISIS.  While the USA has been arming both the Turks and the Kurds it is undecided whether the USA will try to get Turkey to stop.
