@raphjd: This crap has been going on for at least 2 decades. There are even companies with no connection to the copyrighted item trying to profit by claiming.   About 10 years ago, the EU had several such companies doing this. Extortion is the best word for it.   They threaten to sue you for massive sums but say they will drop it if you pay several thousand. I know, it's such a fucking racket out there. Makes me want to be a pirate even more. If they have all this money to try and "break the war on piracy," to not gain any profits (because it's more likely the people they're suing has absolutely no money), then they're making too much money. Fuck them….. I don't feel guilty anymore. No one can afford these prices anymore, and they promote to the poorest communities too.

A couple of obvious problems: 1/  People with disabilities who require assistance to use a public washroom. 2/  People with disabilities who don't require assistance but do use heavy mobility devices. 3/ young children with parents. 4/  Really heavy people.

Yes, I'm afraid my analogies got a bit off-center in the last post.  Your glory holes in England are indeed man-made, as was the one in my original post and video clip (although they are related to meteorological events, such as rain/flooding). Oh I thoroughly believe the government has been doing that since dial up began. I think what may have taken longer was their ability to parse the intell. You don't think the sudden advent of free cameras in virtually everything was just some freak accident do you. It's all good, I am sure they use their magic powers wisely.  Bottom line is don't get up to stupid things and there is really nothing to worry about. Eventually everything will be done by instant dna, although that will likely spurn a new level of criminal behavior. Bottom line is if someone really wants what you have they will find a way to get it. I am just waiting for the first cryptocurrency hack and run. It will eventually happen, for every brilliant mind creating a new way to use the internet, there are a thousand just as brilliant hackers waiting for the challenge. I am also waiting to see what happens when we make humans thoroughly obsolete.

To be honest, a lot of jobs could already be replaced with simple (pretty dumb) automation. In the UK at least, I've definitely seen a surge in replacing cashiers with automated tills.

Only just got around to watching this year's show, the best song definitely won!

Always considered this kind of theories mostly as a convenient way to make yourself a victim and consider everyone else as responsible for your mistakes.

I do wonder what would be next tho, since theories are transient. What could happen if a part of what we know was wrong all the way?
