I mean like the ones made in the 70's, good movies, with plots, sometimes even good plots, with good acting too.

Radley Metzger directed a bunch. There is The Image (1975) and Score (1973), although not XXX, they are explicit and have good acting, cinematography, good plots.

He did full hardcore too, but always maintaned quality. The Opening of Misty Beethoven (1976) is a great example and so many others he directed.

Veronica Hart was a XXX actress but she was praised by how good her acting skills were.

Joseph Sarno directed a lot of softcore movies and always managed to get good performances of his cast.

There were a lot of porn movies from many countries that we can say are good movies in that era.

Also good softcore movies in the 90's too. Those erotic thrillers too.

Italian productions so criative and sometimes unusual.

The movie is great. But it's an art-house mainstream movie. I was thinking more of a proper erotic softcore movie type. But thanks, even movies like The Dreamers are welcome.

My favorite great-aunt had a small memorabilia room with just one window. That room gave me hours of wonder and entertainment every time - so glad she did not have a television.
