Asking other data archivists (hoarder is such a strong word), what do you do with these requests?

Typically I check if it's still being requested/downloaded. If not, not going to bother. Then I check my local drives, the easiest to retrieve and reseed. After that it's a pain, that means it's been cataloged and archived on one of my other drives, which usually cleans up file names, searches for dupes, and moves them to a categorized directory structure. At this point, I don't think I can help the re-seed requester. But sometimes, I can piece back together the torrent. Not often.

@arrgh30 if you don't keep the original torrent structure and file names, don't even bother

Once again I'd like to remind everyone that it's not mandatory that you speak.

Every single video I download gets passed through Handbrake and, if larger, reduced to 720p because on average I can cut the filesize by over 50%. I simply cannot afford to buy enough storage to keep everything in its original format. As such I delete all reseed requests without even looking at them.

What I could do is upload a new version of each request in my post-Handbrake state (assuming I didn't delete it for not scratching that itch), but before I could do that I'd have to look closely at the request and also search the whole site to ensure I wouldn't be uploading something that would fall into the definition of a duplicate. If it turned out to be viable, I'd then have to go and collate all the files into a suitable folder structure, create thumbnails for it all (which is much easier now thanks to @ianfontinell) and then create the new upload. It's more work than one might think, and far easier for someone else to do if they still have the original files.
