"Porn that shows or depicts sex between step or foster-relations where one person is pretending to be under 18 will also be captured by the new offences." and possession could lead to 2 to 3 year in prison. Users may like to review what they have and what they download. I am particularly thinking about some of the videos from the SAYUNCLE study in regards to fathers and step-sons.

@octopusuk can't think of a thing more embarrassing than having to explain to a judge why you have a video of two consenting adults having sex in your computer.

Once again I'd like to remind everyone that it's not mandatory that you speak.

@ianfontinell I know, but maybe it's better not to have the conversation with the judge in the first place ...

The UK is completely bonkers at this point. This wasn’t even a study done by a independent agency or research institute but by some political right wing hack opion.

Labour is a left-wing political party, not right-wing.

While Labour under Tony Blair allowed men to be fully erect in porn, they were also responsible for most of the current banned porn list. The current Labour party is in charge of the UK now.

Baroness Gabby Bertin is a Conservative peer (led the porn review), but only the government can make laws.

At the moment, this law applies to England and Wales only.

It will most likely come to Scotland too.

I don't keep up with Northern Ireland, so I have no idea what they are doing.

@raphjd This new law was passed during the previous Conservative government. In the UK laws can take years to come into force and are not generally affected by a change of government.

@jokuihmemies OK. I thought step-relationships were also illegal, but I might be wrong. Some of SAYUNCLE brother/step-brother content may be OK then I guess?

@jokuihmemies nah mate they're insinuating that it is this type of pornography that is turning the teens violent and insecure, they think it is a good idea to censor it instead of teaching about boundaries and consent from an early age. In a few years when nothing has changed they will add more kinks to this stupid law instead of looking at the actual cause, because this is easier to pull off and say you are doing something.

@ianfontinell Bro, you are thinking way to hard into this. It's much simpler. Most porn nowadays has one of those aspects in there. A little bit of choking or incestuous tendencies. Thats a good portion of porn forbidden just like that.

A lot of stuff they are trying to forbid was already so in the industry for many years.

All of them; activists groups like collective shout, look them up.

And if you can find a way to bind a controversial policy to protecting children you have a 99% change it will pass, because who doesn't want to protect children.
