Brave's "AI" is making this site famous... 🙄 😂
-
what am i missing? you sent a link to a community topic and it is surprising that the ai can read it?
-
@Shepard69 There certainly seems to be a disconnect between banging on about privacy and members being anonymous, while at the same time making this forum publicly accessible.
Even more worrying that the post referred to is only eight hours old!
Eight hours old was definitely a stand-out to me also.

How fast the AI picked up on it.
To clarify:
Nope, I did Not tell the Brave AI the link. It had already found it on its own, like you said, less than 8 hours.The only thing I input into the Brave search engine was exactly this format:
Tony from Sneak Peek ProductionsI only included the link here in this topic that I made, so everyone knew the other topic that I was referring to.
-
@Shepard69 Just for clarification, did you just ask for any information on "Tony from Sneak Peek Productions" or did you also provide the forum link?
Or did the AI find the link independently?

@Shepard69 Cool. That's what I thought. @ianfontinell 's comment made me wonder if I'd maybe misunderstood!
-
@Kevin4fm
Nah, it was my bad, wasn't clear enough, lots of laughs.
But yeah, 8 hours is a bit amazing and scary at the same time = just think about it:
"AI" is really just getting started. Give it another year and how fast will it See everything we are posting = maybe within 1 or 2 seconds...?

-
@Shepard69 It's not so much the AI thing that concerns me - one of my best friends is AI - it's that it's so easy to forget, or I'm sure for many members to not even realise, that this is a public forum, not a private one.
So if you say something like "I'm trying to download..." or "I have uploaded...", etc. you're potentially providing evidence that could be used against you.
Perhaps I should stop being so active in trying to help people, etc, and either just become a lurker or stop visiting the forum altogether.
[Clarification: By 'public', I don't mean that anybody can post, but that anybody can read the stuff here. And apparently even the ...body part is optional.]

I made the comment 5h ago about me thinking it was Tony. But I made a typo in the studio name as it's sneek peek. And if you search on the site under that studio name you will find it.
I find it very concerning that AI scraped this forum for a comment that was made 5h ago and in all honesty it should worry the mods as well.
So what is the point that we need to prove that we are human every time and you have it checked by cloud flare when bots just get in as everything is way open.
-
@shepard69 this is not directly related to AI capabilities. AI chatbots can do research before presenting results, if you input a term they will perform a literal search on one or more search engines.
if you look up "Tony from Sneak Peek Productions" on google (with the quotation marks) you will find 1 result, from that very topic you linked.
How fast a specific website will be indexed is completely up to the indexer. highly active communities like reddit, github, lpsg, are constantly being indexed, so you can have topics showing up in search results in a matter of hours.
because the site is public, it being indexed quickly is a very good sign.

I understand Reddit etc... but I dont think it's something we want for us, right.
-
@shepard69
because the site is public, it being indexed quickly is a very good sign.I would actually put it this way:
"because the site is public, it being indexed quickly is a very Bad sign"but that's just me.
