Convert to AV1 format using ab-av1
-
The only issue having here is that why .mp4 container over .mkv container aka matroska is consider duplicates of the same size when it comes to size, while .avi, quicktime, etc .. are not ...
Thats what kevin want to know ... -
@frostycab Yeah. I was optimistic when @ianfontinell mentioned having created a search filter to automatically exclude them, but the only version I've been able to identify is a "Saved Search", which needs reapplying every time, even if it's saved. I tried that for a bit, but it's more of a pain than having to visually skip over these torrents when browsing a list.
Ideally, it would be great to be able to block uploads by a specific individual. I'm sure this could be done without needing to reveal to the blocker the actual name of the member being blocked.
Alternatively, perhaps being able to add a facility to automatically mark as "Hidden" either by a Title word search or by (Anonymous) user. Or, perhaps, even both.
-
@frostycab agreed, a blacklist is a lot more useful than the option to hide torrents one by one. i resorted to a custom userscript that does the job and is easy to handle.
-
@john32123666 Absolutely agree. That's why my two bones of contention are clarity and consistency.
Clarity: If the powers that be have decided .mkv and .mp4 are the same, fine(ish). Just make it clear within the published rules covering duplicates rather than letting someone go through the work of creating a torrent - within the published rules - then nuking it, or requiring a huge amount of work to find it buried in a thread like this. Publishing a reference point should also lead to consistency. Two of my nuked torrents were not duplicates, judged by what has been said here, yet they WERE nuked as duplicates and remained so, even after I queried this.
Consistency: Primarily out of curiosity, as you say, if .mp4 is considered the same as ,mkv, then why isn't .avi, .wmv, etc.?
If the idea is to stop the site getting bogged down with multiple torrents with, essentially, the same files, perhaps file type shouldn't even be a differentiator. There are a plethora of file converter apps - many free - for those of us hung up on all files in our collection being the same type.
The different "format" should be resolution: 480p, 720p, 1080p, etc. If a 720p file already exists, whatever the file type, an upload of a similarly sized file is a duplicate, regardless of file type.

@ianfontinell Do you think it would hard to implement?
For example, I'd start mine out with such search terms as:
- AV1 encoded by ab-av1
- Men At Play
- Charturbaters Collection
- Austin Wolfe
- Lydian Grey
- Vintage
- Bara
- Scat
- Piss
- Gooning
- ...etc,
thus reducing the amount of stuff to trawl through each and every day. If possible it could be complimented by a Whitelist feature that would show uploads containing whitelisted terms even if they share blacklisted ones. That would allow for a scene to show even from a blacklisted studio if it contained a whitelisted performer.
-
@frostycab dear lord, what is it that you're downloading? you're on your way to blacklist the whole site lmao
-
@ianfontinell Well therre are some performers who are just an immediate turn-off. I dislikle most of the stuff that was released back when VCRs were a thing. MAP is just ick to me, and all of those big chaturbate collections usually have less than 5 files worth watching. Bara just seems to be anime furry MAP. LOL
Hopefully you see what I'm aiming at though. There are some things that will always get skipped no matter what, so the ability to filter them out would be great.

@frostycab I can ask my personal friend chatgpt to make a script for you based on the one i have, you only need to have tampermonkey or violentmonkey installed in your browser and you can start blacklisting shit
-
@frostycab SLEAZYFORK: Gaytor.rent Keyword Blacklist & Whitelist
It has a floating button visible in the search page, that shows the number of blacklisted torrents in the current list. Hovering shows options to add/manage keywords. Clicking the button switches the viewing mode: shield icon visible means blacklisted entries are hidden. Forbidden icon means only blacklisted entries are shown.
It accepts words and sentences, but avoid using dots, commas, dashes or semicolons (because i never tested and it probably will not work/can break the script or filter stuff that it shouldn't)

-
@ianfontinell Oooh! Spank you for taking the time to do that! Unfortunately, I can't seem to get it to work. I added TamponGibbon to Chrome and installed the script, but can't see that little shield icon anywhere even after Chrome had a full restart after a reboot. 100% user error, but no idea how to fix it.
-
@frostycab now I'm curious if it might be the script, i never tested it in chrome. If I find something out I'll let you know.
-
@frostycab alright i tried it on chrome, the browser has a new option now and the user has to enable userscripts on a per-extension basis, so you need to go right-click the extension button, click manage extension and then toggle "enable userscripts" on.

Yup, that did the trick. Looks really good too. Nice and clean. I shall test over the coming days and let you know how I get on.
I never knew you could do stuff like this with scripts in a browser. What a shame I don't understand scripting!
Thank you!
