It's definitely been a learning process with the new layout and the lack of 'helpful' apps for uploading. I've spent the last couple weeks teaching myself to make the torrents on my uTorrent and the using the upload page to upload and re-download the new torrents. I've had success, but I'm having one recurring problem. A couple times, when I'm downloading the file and the uTorrent is 'checking' it stalls at 99.9%, the color turns blue (from grey) and says 'Connecting to peers 99.9%'. The first couple times it did this I simply deleted the post, re-posted on the upload page and it went through without a hitch. Now, I have one torrent I am trying to upload and this has happened 4 times. First, I tried my old trick and it didn't work. Then I deleted the post and the torrent file (from my files) and recreated the torrent file. I have done this twice with the same outcome. I don't know what else to try. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

@tarrat The 99.9% suggests something is missing in the directory you're pointing at. Sometimes, tiny files can be hidden when you view in Explorer (assuming you're on Windows) so make sure you've set your view to show hidden files.

Then compare what's actually in the folder against the list shown in uTorrent. See if you can spot a small file that is shown in uTorrent but not in your file directory. Some "padding" files, perhaps, which are usually pretty small? Nowadays, these are usually unnecessary but there's often a setting to specifically ensure these aren't created.

The files need to exactly match. If you have, perhaps, opened an image file and trimmed it slightly, or maybe even simply amended the file's properties, they may well not.

I'm sure these are basics you've already thought about, but thought I'd mention them just in case not.

Once you've created the torrent from a directory, all those files need to stay in that directory, unchanged, to be able to seed it. You can, though, add additional files to that directory. That does does no harm. The torrent just wants to know "What directory is it?" and "Are these files here?". It cares not one jot if there are also other files.

Other opinions are also available. They're not right, obviously, but they are available.

@Kevin4fm Thanks for the input. I don't know if that was the issue, I recreated the torrent file (for a fourth time) and it uploaded fine. I'll keep an eye on the files if this recurs again in the future. I've been downloading for years, but still learning what makes everything work.

@tarrat if you still have the same issue and need help in the future make sure to inform your OS, which version of utorrent you're running, if the files are on SSD or HDD.

If your upload is smaller than 8GB you don't even need to create a torrent, you can hash it directly from the upload page.
