@ianfontinell I know how torrents work keep your patroning thoughts TO to your delf, My point was I only got 4gb im ratio from my own upload something isn't right about that //My point was is it deliberate attempt to get you to donate if you have a low ratio.. Just a thought or observation. knowing the world as it is id say it is. I dont mind donating to this site every now and then I just want fair deal on Ratio uploads of #fresh content that no doubt keep site getting the cashflow rolling i.Greed springs to mind...

@sidneejmas it's not patronizing to call you a stupid fuck, if you're so keen on seeing the world for what it really is don't close your eyes to this one more truth: you're stupid.
if you act like a good boy and ask nicely i can teach you, now that is me being patronizing.
-
@ianfontinell typical response from people oblivious to the truth...do you feel superior now that you called someone a stupid fuck on the internet...
-
@ianfontinell or do you feel superior because your the longest on this site therefore have earned Godlike status on the ins and outs of torrenting.......
-
@sidneejmas Do you receive upload credit when you seed torrents you didn't upload? Why are you penalising those torrent uploaders by taking credit when, obviously, 100% of all traffic on each torrent should have gone to the originator?
-
@Kevin4fm Thats what im saying .I was the originator of the original torrent.and i only received 4gb of 580 gb of traffic something wrong about those stats dont you think
-
and i was the original uploader...
-
anyhoo I wont be uploading fresh content anymore Ill just keep it to myself....no thanks for it anyway only strife....
-
@sidneejmas Apologies. My sarcasm was obviously too subtle for you to detect.
You get upload credit for what YOU upload. You don't get upload credit for what others upload. If a torrent has 100GB traffic, and you have 4GB credit (on an original 2GB torrent) it means YOU have seeded the original 2G to get the torrent started, then a further 2GB in total. Others, as they have finished leeching - not necessarily from YOU - have uploaded 96GB between them.
Do you seriously think you should be given the upload credit for what these others have uploaded? Would you be happy if you seeded 50GB of data, yet received credit for none of it because that was given to the torrent originator? If you thought you would, or think you should, then maybe @ianfontinell 's original comment was not that wide of the mark.
The total amount of traffic is completely irrelevant. What counts is how much YOU have uploaded. Obviously you CAN upload, otherwise the torrent could not have been grabbed by others, but once another person also has even a part of your original upload, they can also be seeding other leechers.
The "decision tree" behind who seeds to who and when is a level or two deeper than I can explain to myself, let alone others, but there is one.
If you're convinced there's an error somewhere, it's fairly simple to test/check. Both uTorrent and qBittorrent have columns to display the total amount uploaded. Simply take a look at that. That is the number that should have been credited to you.

In simple terms, don't look at the traffic figures on the website. You need to look at the upload traffic for that torrent reported by your client. You take that number, dumb it down a bit to allow for the possibility of some lost packets and then compare that to the stats in your profile page AFTER allowing an hour or so to ensure that the client and website have had a chance to sync up.
As Kevin4fm said, in the right set of circumstances its entirely possible that the original uploader may only actually upload slightly more that the total size of their torrent IF the swarm decides that its more beneficial to share portions of the upload from leechers.
Finally, since there's a load of work going on behind the scenes as the site gets updated its entirely possible that there may be a few hiccups. If anyone doesn't want to put up with that then perhaps take a break for a week and then come back and see if things are working the way you think they should. There's also the helpdesk, which is arguably a better place to ask about this as they can see your figures. Without the actual numbers from your client and profile anyone offering help here is just guessing.
