      Hi,
after years without visiting the site I connected again last friday/saturday, downloaded few stuffs, my ratio went down so I uploaded 2 new torrents (both have accumulated at this moment respectively 54 Gbs and 38 Gbs according to my own torrent client and I can confirm it since I have monitored them !), but since I think mid-saturday my ratio didn't move at all and non of my upload seems to have been counted. Since maybe 2-3 hours ago the ratio started again to move but It seems to have not and will never take the last two days in account as if they never existed for my ratio ! (2 out of 3 days since I came back...)
By the way I was switched saturday after my first upload to the new site, and also there was a mention on the main page saying "We are working on the Site" so at first I didn't care that much but now it seems that I have been deprived of almost 90 Gbs of upload !!!

Is there a solution ? (Wasn't sure if it was a bug worth been reported through the system icon...)
      Can an admin advice ?
      Thanks

PS: don't mind mistakes, english isn't my main language..

Seems I'm not the only one...
By the way should it be reported as a "bug" through the little red ladybug on the bottom right corner of the (new) site ??? 🤔

@maddog97 the ladybug is only for issues related to things not working on the page you are visiting, the problem you are reporting is related to the tracker (not the website). the problem with tracker hickups is that they are unrecoverable, if your traffic fails to be registered you will sadly miss that traffic forever.

soon there will be a more detailed stats in your user panel, where you will be able to see the amount of data that you downloaded/uploaded in the last 24 hours, it will be easier to keep track of those issues and report when something is not registering, to figure out if the problem is the tracker your if could be your client.

@sidneejmas I strongly encourage anyone who can afford it to donate at least once, regardless of having a ratio problem or not. It costs money to keep the site running, so I'm sure every penny helps.

I'm assuming ratio problems most likely affect newcomers, who are learning how things work, so consequently their up and down figures are relatively low. The more you use the site, the higher those numbers, and the less impact donating has. I'm currently on about 36TB up and 16TB down, so the donation would need to be significant to move the needle even a little.

Of course, at the moment donations are worth seven times the upload credit they usually are, so if you're thinking about donating, now is an extremely good time to do so.

@sidneejmas your understanding of how torrents work is so lacking that you should just find something else to do.

@sidneejmas it's not patronizing to call you a stupid fuck, if you're so keen on seeing the world for what it really is don't close your eyes to this one more truth: you're stupid.

if you act like a good boy and ask nicely i can teach you, now that is me being patronizing.

@sidneejmas Do you receive upload credit when you seed torrents you didn't upload? Why are you penalising those torrent uploaders by taking credit when, obviously, 100% of all traffic on each torrent should have gone to the originator?

@sidneejmas Apologies. My sarcasm was obviously too subtle for you to detect.

You get upload credit for what YOU upload. You don't get upload credit for what others upload. If a torrent has 100GB traffic, and you have 4GB credit (on an original 2GB torrent) it means YOU have seeded the original 2G to get the torrent started, then a further 2GB in total. Others, as they have finished leeching - not necessarily from YOU - have uploaded 96GB between them.

Do you seriously think you should be given the upload credit for what these others have uploaded? Would you be happy if you seeded 50GB of data, yet received credit for none of it because that was given to the torrent originator? If you thought you would, or think you should, then maybe @ianfontinell 's original comment was not that wide of the mark.

The total amount of traffic is completely irrelevant. What counts is how much YOU have uploaded. Obviously you CAN upload, otherwise the torrent could not have been grabbed by others, but once another person also has even a part of your original upload, they can also be seeding other leechers.

The "decision tree" behind who seeds to who and when is a level or two deeper than I can explain to myself, let alone others, but there is one.

If you're convinced there's an error somewhere, it's fairly simple to test/check. Both uTorrent and qBittorrent have columns to display the total amount uploaded. Simply take a look at that. That is the number that should have been credited to you.

In simple terms, don't look at the traffic figures on the website. You need to look at the upload traffic for that torrent reported by your client. You take that number, dumb it down a bit to allow for the possibility of some lost packets and then compare that to the stats in your profile page AFTER allowing an hour or so to ensure that the client and website have had a chance to sync up.

As Kevin4fm said, in the right set of circumstances its entirely possible that the original uploader may only actually upload slightly more that the total size of their torrent IF the swarm decides that its more beneficial to share portions of the upload from leechers.

Finally, since there's a load of work going on behind the scenes as the site gets updated its entirely possible that there may be a few hiccups. If anyone doesn't want to put up with that then perhaps take a break for a week and then come back and see if things are working the way you think they should. There's also the helpdesk, which is arguably a better place to ask about this as they can see your figures. Without the actual numbers from your client and profile anyone offering help here is just guessing.

                                        Taste the rainbow! Eat crayons!
