download torrent but not the files

if i download a torrent but not downloading the files (i changed my mind) will it reduce my ratio?

@idumy here's what is your ratio, actually: take everything you've downloaded and divide by everything you've uploaded.
Let's say a torrent has 100GB, if you download the torrent file and even add it to your client, but never download any file, it won't affect your ratio. If you start the download and then change your mind midway, the amount of bytes that you have already downloaded will not be rolled back. So if you downloaded 5GB out of 100GB, you'll have 5GB added to your Downloaded bytes.
Same goes for upload, but have in mind that as long as there's a demand, you can seed an indefinite amount. That is, in the same example of a 100GB torrent where you only downloaded 5GB... It is possible that you seed more than 5GB during the period in which the torrent was active.

I totally forgot to mention freelech torrents, so just in case your not familiar, when a torrent is marked as freelech, the downloaded bytes will not count towards your stats/ratio.
That's true only during freelech time, if the freelech ends in 24 hours it means you have 24 hours to finish the download for free, after this period any download bytes will be counted.
