I totally forgot to mention freelech torrents, so just in case your not familiar, when a torrent is marked as freelech, the downloaded bytes will not count towards your stats/ratio.

That's true only during freelech time, if the freelech ends in 24 hours it means you have 24 hours to finish the download for free, after this period any download bytes will be counted.

Let's say a torrent has 100GB, if you download the torrent file and even add it to your client, but never download any file, it won't affect your ratio. If you start the download and then change your mind midway, the amount of bytes that you have already downloaded will not be rolled back. So if you downloaded 5GB out of 100GB, you'll have 5GB added to your Downloaded bytes.
