For hospitalization & death, covid kept hitting 2 categories: aged & obese.

Why obese?

Could be the huge (so to speak) overlap between obesity & Type 2 diabetes, or other conditions that obesity will cause or at least worsen.

Or it could be fat cells having different physiology - some scientists said, fat over-produces a certain interleukin (I think) tied to covid inflammatory damage.

Regardless, and all thru the pandemic, a good way to reduce covid risk was to reduce your excess weight.

Now here we have NYC Mayor Adams saying

Science has shown body type is not a connection to if you're healthy or unhealthy

...which is false & unscientific of him... as he signs law banning "weight discrimination".

If authoritarian libs cared about science or health - in any real way - they'd be all over the backs of fat people.

@blablarg18 But what would doing what is right for the people do for them? What could they gain from this? It seems that they can gain a lot more by trying to push products and services down people's throats to make them spend money on certain things to make other people rich. That's the way politicians work these days.

Had to read that a couple times to get it - but.... ya exactly.

Here in Clown World 2023, no politician feels held to account, like they better do best thing.

USA lots of fat people & Adams going for votes & money.

But Adams lying about the science, against the science, so blatantly...
