How do I watch the videos?

Hi I’m new here and don’t understand how torrents work. When I downloaded a video it downloaded as a 14KB document instead of a 339.64MB mp4. Using an iPad. Thanks

There are probably some specific help pages/comment threads that can answer your question in detail, and I'm sure another Gentle User will step in here and point you there.
For now, let's look at some very general concepts: None of the thousands (millions?) of videos or images featured on the torrent pages are stored by the gaytor.rent website. Instead, individual users (like me, and now you) have some of them on their computers. Think of this website as a "matchmaker," connecting your computer to other computers so files can be shared back and forth between users.
The small "torrent file" you've downloaded from this site isn't a video. It's sort of like a passport that lets your computer connect to the other users so that you can download video material directly from them, and then the video (a much larger file) will show up on your computer.
This requires having a software application running on your computer (a "torrent client") that does the actual connecting-to-others and sharing files. I'm afraid that I don't know anything about iPads, but other users here do and they can probably point you to a web page that has the directions you need. The setup can be tricky, but if you get stuck, don't be afraid to ask questions in the forum. All of us had to learn this stuff when we got started.

@Xezak To add to the excellent advice from @eobox91103 I'd recommend using anything but a device running iOS for torrenting. iOS doesn't currently support any torrent client, so the only options are some web based clients or sideloading an unsupported app. You'll have a much easier experience using a device running Windows, macOS, Linux or Android.

@Xezak You need a torrent client in order to download the contents of a torrent from the small .torrent file.
We recommend the use of uTorrent 2.2.1, qBitTorrent, Transmission, or Flox.
Simply put, you open the .torrent file with your torrent client, and the .torrent file feeds your torrent client the information it needs to be able to connect to the trackers to get information on where to find peers who actively have the content to download it from.

@Xezak Not sure if you ever resolved this but I just wanted to add that as an iPad user, I would not use your tablet to try to download anything other than small files for emails, etc.
If you do not have a computer, and only have a smartphone and the iPad, you probably do not want to attempt torrents. Even a simple cheap Chrome laptop which I would not otherwise recommend, will be a better option.
However, if you do own a Mac computer, there are several options for you to torrent. You can create a new question and ask. Good luck.
