ROFL! The implication that ANY SCOTUS takes (or took) direction from POTUS is laughable! Even Roosevelt couldn't "control" the SCOTUS of the 1930's and 1940's!
The BEST an administration can do is file a case and ask for it to be heard. The court can choose to hear it, or not, but THAT is the essence of the separation of powers!
Maybe Trump thought he could control the SCOTUS, if he put enough people on the Court. But even that hasn't worked out for him, as Justice Barrett has defied Trump on several occasions already!
Mind you, before you go off all half-cocked: I'm not saying the SCOTUS didn't take up these cases. I'm saying the Court was under no real pressure NOT to - not from the Administration or elsewhere.
I'm also not saying the Biden Administration may not have wished the Court would have let these go... but there was no pressure or influence from the POTUS wing of the US Government to try to influence the SCOTUS wing - and if there were, it would have been laughed out of court - LITERALLY.
