This problem is ongoing. I have had contact with staff, who say it is all sorted, everything just needs restarting I have done that multiple times. I use libtorrent, and the error message in the torrent client is [Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with given CA certificates]. No connection to any torrents here for 4 days...

My torrents are not downloading, either. I'm using qbitorrent and it says the status of the tracker is "not working". This started happening yesterday.

i saw an outage as well, but it appears live now.

Yes, it's definitely still down for me. I have restarted many times but it changes nothing.

Unfortunately not for me (and others, it seems).

@mansen I keep getting this error too. Makes it really tough to use the forums.

Hello. I managed to get the torrents working again. Apparently there was something called a "DST Root CA X3 certificate" that expired on October 1st and it broke a lot of websites and devices. This was preventing my torrents from downloading. What i did was I went to https://valid-isrgrootx1.letsencrypt.org/ on Chrome and it automatically updated the certificates. Now my torrents are working again. I hope this helps anyone else with this issue.

@kuroanagi I'm downloading the torrents using transmission on my NAS, does it have anything to do with CA and Chrome? Sorry I don't get it.

Thanks -- but nothing I have tried has fixed the issue. I tried installing the certificates on that website, but nothing. I don't know what to do.

Thanks, @brodie24 -- I'm sorry to hear that, though I'm relieved to hear it's not just me. I haven't been able to find anything on the site about what's going on.

I'm also getting this 👇🏼 very often while in the forum. Not sure if it's related, but it's weird.

I joined 7 days ago and have been getting this problem since then. I have not been able to download anything. For a moment I thought that the site is fake if not for the forums and the people who are posting. My experience is not positive so far here. Lots of technical issues and my first post got deleted when I asked for help.

I never had problems like this on the other gay site which I am a member of for over 10 years.

@kinkyguy666 sorry to hear that. the forum section has been a mess, I don't know why they haven't done anything about it, it's atrocious, user unfriendly.

Story so far -- Transmission is not working, but qBitorrent works. (A shame as Transmission is a lot prettier!)

                                This is on my Mac.

@vatdweller Yes, I've been using Transmission. I'll try the other. That is ... very weird. Why would this happen?

Before you start throwing your client "under the bus", please note that a LOT of sites on the Internet are being affected by a CA cert expiration at one of the largest SSL certificate providers. It's not that it wasn't planned for, just that a lot of Windows systems didn't get the update!

Not to get too technical, but that's a parent of a parent of the SSL cert (and there MAY be additional levels!) expiring... making a LOT of things on the Internet that depend on SSL for security to fail.

                                    Read more HERE.

Some torrent clients will "fail" if the SSL cert isn't authentic, others will ignore (qBittorrent has a switch)...

Fix your Windows before you DITCH a perfectly good torrent client!

NOTE: The SAME condition exists on MACs, Linux systems, even cloud systems! The issue is in the SSL infrastructure, NOT in the OS itself!

@bi4smooth I'm on a Mac and use Transmission. I'm not abandoning it, but it's not working currently and I don't know how to get it up and running. The app is too widely used for this problem not to get fixed at some point -- but I don't know how to do it (it's likely not too hard, you just have to know how to manipulate SSL conditions within which it operates).

So meanwhile, I'll use qBittorent for a while. I like a lot of what it offers but it looks like Windows software and not an elegant Mac app, which Transmission most certainly is. qBt is def more powerful but Transmission is simple, attractive and gets the job done. Usually...

When Transmission is operational again, I'll switch back. With fond sentiments towards qBt which is an excellent client.

The forum disconnection problem is due to our use of Cloudflare to protect us from DDOS attacks.

The site (aka tracker) and the forums use different servers, so any issues won't be connected unless it's something big.

Glad to hear you love your Transmission... far be it from me to tell ANYONE what client to use! Indeed, my post was trying to say "NOT SO FAST"

FWIW: I like qBitTorrent because I can use it on my PC, my Mac, and my Linux - all with mostly the same look/feel. LOL Exactly what you dislike about it! Different strokes! Viva la Difference! (Anglicized, yes)

If you look hard in the Transmission settings, you SHOULD find an SSL (or rather, an ignore SSL errors) setting. My Mac is broken right now, so I can't give you point and click instructions, but I'm confident it is there.

Finally, as @raphjd said above, the tracker issue is an SSL problem - unrelated to the Forum's "self-correcting bounce" (my term)... but the SSL issue is NOT solely related to this site or the LetsEncrypt SSL distributor/issuer... the CA (Certificate Authority) certificates are issued (unlike your own SSL cert) for YEARS! Decades, even!

This is going to be a problem for a LOT of early IoT devices - some of whom simply cannot be updated easily (if at all).

In the meantime, check out this Apple site - I didn't read deeply into it (I didn't follow the links - and with my Mac being down, I can't check out its veracity), but it purports to allow you to update the CA Store on your Apple devices...
