      Does anyone know of a process or program that will take my DVD movies and change them into files so I can watch the files on my computer? Like how we take our torrents and turn them into 1 or 2 GB files. I googled the shite out of it but came up with so many useless resources and expired links  :google:

        You will need a few things;

        1. An up to date computer.  If you are running a 5 year old piece of crap, then you will get crap video output.

        2. A compatible dvd player (and blu-ray player).  Any dvd player made in the last 5 years should be able to play dual layer (aka DVD9) discs.

        3. A program that counter acts the decryption and region coding of the dvd.   :cens: (or better yet,  :cens:) will do this for you, as will  :cens:. You will need to keep updating these as the encryption on dvds and blu-rays keep changing.

        4. There are several programs that will RIP a dvd and/or blu-ray.  I'MToo Dvd Ripper is a good one.

          Thanks! That's exactly what I needed to know. I will look into the programs you've suggested for sure  😉

            Could someone PM me with the name(s) of a good DVD ripper (for Windows), please.  I have DVD Shrink from years go, and I have downloaded some I found with google, but they are no better.

              Handbrake is good to make .mp4(m4v) or .mkv files from DVD Data files. It won't remove copy protections, though.
