Leave older torrents in my Torrent client to seed? Or remove after how long?

After I d/l a torrent, I always let it stay active to seed. However, I noticed that after a few days (usually) there no longer seems to be any activity and it just sits there in the list. I now have a list of dozens of "active" torrents, with only the ones d/l in the last few days actually doing anything. I checked my client settings, and ensured there are no limits on uploads or seeding applied, so I don't believe it's something specific to my machine.

I want to make sure I keep seeding torrents, especially older ones with fewer seeders. However, is there a point where I should just remove it from my client? Any tips to best keep the files flowing for the rest of you?

At home, if something has not been touched or used in six months (not including certain body parts) it goes to the donation bin, the recycle bin, or the rubbish bin.

Maybe that could work for torrents too.

I see the issue is related to a lack of seeders and on some torrents, also the age of the torrent. Many of them qualify for freeleech and/or promotion. Please stand by while I go on a freeleech spree to help you get some more upload traffic on your torrents.

I tend to keep torrents for a while.  Once they get to 500% I remove them, unless there are less than 3 seeders, in which case I make them freeleech.
