Uploading and seeding with Azureus (now Vuze)
-
Hallo mates :
me thinks I have some difficulty trying to offer some video torrents - i followed these directions to the letter ( I think )
the first offer never got approved - as it was not seeding - I found the torrent icon from azureus ( in my library ) and clicked it - now it would appear - if the torrent were healthy - I would be downloading my own created torrent - is this correct ( health ) red ( tracker ) ok dht
I made a new offering last nite - followed directions again - this time the file immediately appeared in my Azureus seeding section ( health ) blue (tracker ) ok dht
anyone have an idea how do I correct this - or what is doing /
cheers in advance -
Hello nomadix,
Your torrent arrived well on the tracker and for approval, but you are not appearing to upload (seed) or download (leech) it.
If it is running in your torrent client programme (Vuze/Azureus), it means you use the small .torrent file which you created and not the re-downloaded .torrent file from GayTorrent.ru .
Here what to do:
1/ Stop the torrent,
2/ remove it from your client including the .torrent file (but NOT the data!)
3/ go to the torrent description and "Download" the .torrent file from there [1]
4/ when you open it in your torrent client programme, usually a window pops up with the download loacation, press the button to change it and navigate to your movie files location, set it as the download location. Confirm
5/ Restart the .torrent[1] = you can find it from the Profile page (click on your name in top left "Welcome back, …") or from the PM confirming the upload and inviting you to redownload the .torrent

I am using Vuze and have followed the steps in this thread. I have just joined GAYtorrent and downloaded my first file and it it not seeding.
The status now says "Forced Seeding".
tracker status says "OK"It is not uploading. Is it because it says "0(0)" under peers? I did change the preferences by unchecking the box for "Ignore torrents with 0 peers".

the torrent you were seeding has 0 leechers which means that there is no one downloading it and therefore you will not seed anything….
(only if there are leechers will you seed something)i suggest you download a newer torrent with many leechers and less seeders so that you don't get into ratio problems (the risk of which is quite high since you only have a download amount so far)…

Dear Moderator,
I really don't understand what I'm doing wrong here. I followed the instructions as closely as I could. Appearantly, all of my uploads aren't seeding.
This is what I tried to do:
I go to one of my uploaded torrents I press ‘download’ and ‘open’ and then Vuze says the torrent already exists. When I click ‘download’ and ‘save’ my torrent map is being showed. I press save, and since it’s already in there it says ‘torrent exists already’. And then I still replace it. After that I again open the torrent and I get the same ‘torrent already exists’.
But when I select the torrent in Vuze's "My Libary" and I click the right mouse button on it and select "Show details" the tracker URL (in blue) is the right one, but below behind ‘Tracker status’ it says ‘Scrape error, file not found (I translated this because it says that in Dutch).
Could this be the problem? Otherwise I really don't know what's going wrong here!
I really hope you could help me!
Yours,
Lucas
(Sorry for my poor English)

Our tracker got scrape switched off. Therefore that error message is normal for all torrents being Queued (i.e. not "Downloading" or "Seeding"). You need just to change the settings as in the below instructions marked blue.
Here another short Guide, assuming you know to create a torrent with Vuze/Azureus already.
Make the following setting in Vuze/Azureus > "Tools" > "Options" > "Files" > uncheck " Automatically download files to the default directory (no prompt)". This setting is usefull at the steps which follow.
Do not load the torrent you've created into Vuze/Azureus ! <– part of your trouble comes from the fact that you load the created torrent automatically after creation, see the original and 3rd post of this topic.
Just upload it to GayTorrent.ru via the "Upload" in the blue band and then:1/ After you upload the torrent file, you need to get it back downloaded from GayTorrent.ru. (only the small torrent).
2/ Open the re-downloaded torrent with Vuze/Azureus and it shall show a small window to confirm or change the download location (see above preparation setting). Use there the browse button and navigate to your movie file location. Save that as the target download.
3/ Do a "Force Recheck" (right click on the torrent in the library), Vuze/Azureus should find the file and check it to 100%
4/ Start the torrent, it should go to seeding.
If Vuze/Azureus doesn't keep seeding, the setting of Azureus/Vuze are wrong, use these:
Tools > Options > Queue -> Seeding > First Priority > A share ratio under [1:1], set the rest to ignore and uncheck Torrents with 0 Peers
and
Tools > Options > Queue > Seeding > Ignore Rules > uncheck Ignore torrents with 0 peers

This is absolutely maddening … I am trying to follow all the steps that you have laid out for me, and this is not working.
I am obviously doing something wrong, and I don't know what that is.
So ... I have a file in J:\porn\gay\movie-name.aviI used Vuze to create a new torrent file with the options you've pointed out ...
This creates the .torrent file in the same directory: J:\porn\gay\movie-name.avi.torrent
I uploaded the image, the description, and the torrent file I just created. When I download the torrent file I just uploaded, Vuze tells me that the media file already exists.
At that point ... what do I do now?I want to upload a file first before I dload anything. Thanks!

Somehow I managed to get past the Already Exists issue …
Basically, I did change the default so that I was ALWAYS prompted on where to put the file.
So, the second time I tried this I pointed to where the file was located already.
It did a check and created this item at the bottom of my queued up files.
I did a right mouse click, and did a Forced-re-check. It climbed to the top quickly, and then was seeding.BTW, I did get the "Scrape Error" but found another link on how to fix that.
The one thing you will notice is that all the directions for Azureus now are completely out-dated ...
Since it is now Vuze, many of the options have been moved around, so it takes a little longer to find things. Now if I could better find out how to see if there are no duplicates .....

Unfortunately we are only a few Staff members, so if a member could redo a better guide on how-to create, upload and seed with Vuze/Azureus, he's welcome

We have a Guide on how-to search for duplicate before uploading there > http://community.gaytor.rent/index.php?topic=6659.0
That is basically what Moderators do when reviewing torrents for approval, don't wonder about the time it takes anymore >:D

I have a quick question. I've tried to use the quick torrent maker and it uploaded my file to vuze, but now vuze won't download it. Vuze says that it
s downloading but it has 0 of o seeds and 0 or 1 Peers, is it suppose to be like that??? I've also tried to use the method posted on the first page of this thread and it says it's "uploading" but I don't see anything happening. How do I fix this? I'm using Windows 7 on a pc. -
QTM is only available to uTorrent. If you're using another torrent client, you may need to manually download the torrent from the torrents list in your profile.
-
As already said by MrMadzda, with Vuze, you'll need to download the .torrent file yourself with the "Download" button on the description page.
To find the description page, go to your Profile and scroll to the bottom, click on the title of the listed uploaded torrent.
Likely the torrent you've loaded into Vuze hasn't got your personal secret passkey and can't connect to the tracker.
Another reason can be that your Vuze doesn't "know" where you got the file from which QTM created the torrent and tries to download that file. In that case, remove the torrent from Vuze and load it again. Usually Vuze shows a window asking to where to download the file. Navigate there to the file you've got already. If thatdoesn't work, you can place the file into the download folder of Vuze BEFORE you load the .torrent file into Vuze.
Finally you may need to change Vuze's out of the box setting so that it keeps seeding OR to force seeding. Then you'll need to wait for approval, before someone will start downloading.

my uploaded file will not download to VUSE at all. I fallowed your instructions perfectly
-
If it doesn't download to Vuze, to where does it download?
I am asking, because when you hit the "Download" button on the description page, you will download the .torrent file to somewhere on your computer (unless you cancel the action).

took me a few tries but i got it. upload seeding. thanks a bunch. look forward to uploading higher quality movies for your users. hopefully ppl will download this first try so my ratio will go up ;D.
thanks again!!!zenxea

other people are more patient than me. i've spent a week trying to upload a torrent so my account doesn't get disabled. i give up. thanks to all of gay torrent it has been a great 5 years. I will miss this site so much. i will make the most of my last 21 days. i'm sure all the answers are in one of these forums but i guess i am just not computer savvy enough to make heads or tails of it all.
-
hi lasher, 21 days of downloading? It won't actually kick you out, but you have to keep seeding the stuff you download. This will help keep your ratio up!

You've made a torrent description and uploaded successfully the torrent for it. Now you need to:
1/ get the small .torrent file back from the description > click on "Download" on the description page
2/ load it into Azureus / Vuze and point the download to the file you've got
3/ start seeding itIf Vuze / Azureus stops seeding after a few minutes, its settings aren't good for a tracker like ours. You've got two possibilities then:
1/ Force start (not available if you are in Beginner user mode of Vuze, you can change that mode)
2/ Change the queue priority settings like described earlier in this topicAnd I saw you've got thousands of Seed Bonus Points, you can exchange them against upload credit to your statistics. Just click on "Bonus:…" below the blue band in the upper part of our pages and choose option 3.

If I redownload my own torrent and click on "Open with azureus" ill get a notification that "torrent already exist".
I have the torrent in my directory and in the files on azureus but its status is always "in queue"…..
And i jsut got a notification that im not seeding my torrent ? What am i doing wrong ? -
What you are doing wrong:
- likely you load the torrent you have created to upload it and start seeding it, instead the re-downloaded torrent. Only the re-downloaded .torrent file contains your personal secrete passkey and registers with the tracker
- When you then load the re-downloaded torrent and Vuze/Azureus claims it is already there, it will ask if you want to load the tracker from it. say YES there (instead of abandoning)
Then the "out of the box" setting of Vuze/Azureus doesn't work well with our tracker having the scrape support switched off (a rather seldom configuration). This can be overcome by using the settings in Vuze/Azureus as indicated there: http://community.gaytor.rent/index.php?topic=16166.0
