This guide is brought to you by: Windsong.

1. The first and most important thing you must do when using Azureus to upload to gaytor.rent is to locate your default directories that you have set Azureus put you torrent files and your downloaded file.

This is very important because Azureus will be overwriting the torrent file that you created for uploading with your user id info when you download your torrent from the site. This is how you get credit points.

It is also important to has the file you used to make the torrent in you default download directory because when Azureus is checking the torrent when you start you download it will look there to see how much is done. When Azureus sees that the whole file is there it will go into it's seeding mode.

2. Making a torrent with Azureus
Go to the file tab select new torrent from the pop-out menu. After you do this you will see a make torrent screen.

3. In the make torrent screen you will see a field to enter the announce URL put
{ http://tracker.gaytor.rent:80/announce.php}
without the brackets in that field. It won't delete any address that is already in there, it will simply add the new address to a pullout list so you won't have to add the address each time you make a torrent for this site.

Use external tracker yes
Decentralized tracker off
Add muliti tracker info unchecked
Add hashes for other networks checked
and last but not least single file or directory choice is yours

4. After filling out the make torrent screen click the next radio button this will move you on to the seclect file and or directory screen. Use the browse button and go to the defalut Azureus download dir where you put the file or folder you wanted to upload select it and hit the open button. Now click the next button.

5. You will now be at the make torrent screen very very important! The open torrent for seeding when completed must be unchecked!!! Failure to do this will cause the connection to be refused be the tracker.

6. Now hit the finish button you will see a completion graph and a log. When it is done close the screen.

7. Log on to the site select upload from the tool bar and then click the yes I have read link . Pick the catagory, upload the pictures and now choose the torrent you made that will be in your defalut torrent directory.

8. Hit the do it button when you get the success screen redownload the torrent you just uploaded. If you left Azureus runing it will popup and start the torrent. It will check to see how much of the file you have and when it finds the whole file it will start seeding it. Now leave it alone.
This will only happen if you've set Azureus (now Vuze) to "Automatically download to default directory (no prompt)" which is not the default setting.
If you use this setting Azureus will only check and seed your torrent automatically if the file is placed in your default directory beforehand.
This is how to seed using the default settings:
After you click "Download" Vuze will pop up a prompt asking you to either Open or Save the torrent, set it to Open and click OK.
This will then bring up another window which will have the field "Location to save data" in the middle of it, click "Browse", navigate to the folder of the actual file you want to seed (not the .torrent file), and click OK.
If you've done it correctly Vuze will run a check of the file and move it from downloading mode to seeding mode once the check is complete.

When you start a new upload Azureus may tell you that you are firewalled till the torrent is approved by the gaytorrent staff this is normal just wait till you get a green light from Azureus. Also you can look on your profile page and see your torrent with one seed (you) if your did every thing right.

I flipped over to my Vuze window, and suddenly, one of the torrents is connected to a seeder and uploading at a decent clip. I switched windows seconds after I posted. It then stopped after about a minute. There simply wouldn't've been time for anyone to have even read what I posted, but I doubt it's a coincidence that something suddenly connected and started uploading when I posted. Could it be some sort of authentication thing that only confirms a connection when I interact actively with this site? I sign into this site extremely rarely.

I'm going to hit "post" on this and see if I get a sudden flurry of activity in my Vuze window.

EDIT: Nope. I'm baffled.

Although I no longer get the scrape errors, I've found that almost no leechers will stay connected for more than a second or two. I'm currently seeding a couple of torrents that I know have leechers, but it's extremely rare that any connection is maintained or data gets transferred.

If I manually update the tracker for the torrent, I'll get one or two extremely brief connections that almost immediately disconnect. I also noticed that one of those torrents seems to have a leecher permanently listed. The other has about fourteen or so leechers that haven't downloaded for days.

It seems any attempt to improve my ratio by downloading something with a lot of leechers is destined to fail. I have no upload or download problems with any site except this one.

I had a few issues a maybe 2 years ago but now it works like a charm. I am seeding a couple hundred torrents here and they all launch eventually when I turn my laptop on. I find about a third start seeding and then it takes a little break for a minute or three and then the rest start.

likely you load the torrent you have created to upload it and start seeding it, instead the re-downloaded torrent. Only the re-downloaded .torrent file contains your personal secrete passkey and registers with the tracker

When you then load the re-downloaded torrent and Vuze/Azureus claims it is already there, it will ask if you want to load the tracker from it. say YES there (instead of abandoning)

Then the "out of the box" setting of Vuze/Azureus doesn't work well with our tracker having the scrape support switched off (a rather seldom configuration). This can be overcome by using the settings in Vuze/Azureus as indicated there: http://community.gaytor.rent/index.php?topic=16166.0

You've made a torrent description and uploaded successfully the torrent for it. Now you need to:
1/ get the small .torrent file back from the description > click on "Download" on the description page
2/ load it into Azureus / Vuze and point the download to the file you've got
3/ start seeding it

If Vuze / Azureus stops seeding after a few minutes, its settings aren't good for a tracker like ours. You've got two possibilities then:
1/ Force start (not available if you are in Beginner user mode of Vuze, you can change that mode)
2/ Change the queue priority settings like described earlier in this topic

And I saw you've got thousands of Seed Bonus Points, you can exchange them against upload credit to your statistics. Just click on "Bonus:…" below the blue band in the upper part of our pages and choose option 3.

To find the description page, go to your Profile and scroll to the bottom, click on the title of the listed uploaded torrent.

Likely the torrent you've loaded into Vuze hasn't got your personal secret passkey and can't connect to the tracker.

Another reason can be that your Vuze doesn't "know" where you got the file from which QTM created the torrent and tries to download that file. In that case, remove the torrent from Vuze and load it again. Usually Vuze shows a window asking to where to download the file. Navigate there to the file you've got already. If thatdoesn't work, you can place the file into the download folder of Vuze BEFORE you load the .torrent file into Vuze.

Finally you may need to change Vuze's out of the box setting so that it keeps seeding OR to force seeding. Then you'll need to wait for approval, before someone will start downloading.
