      @strangeloop:

You guys are sick.  You see a post by a particular user and can do nothing but attack him for it.

I haven't attacked mhorndisk in this thread. I've attacked his posts and his argument (Supporting veganism whilst also supporting #45). So, being critical of someones argument/position does not mean you are attacking them directly.

If I were name calling (i.e. calling someone sick) then that would be directly attacking someone.  👼

Yes, agreed.  This mhorndisk thread began with the rather unusual fusing of being a vegan, and still supporting Trump, the meat eater.  And that doesn't make for viable political discourse.

As an aside, I have begun reducing my intake of animal "meat" proteins, in equal parts for health and concern for animals.  If mhorndisk wants to write more on vegetarianism or veganism in the Health and Fitness or Chit Chat boards, I certainly would have no beef with that.

I just want to briefly say that I believe the issue of agriculture is something to be discussed regarding policies that affect politics, as our lawmakers work with such agencies as the USDA, especially since global warming is a big piece of it. I didn't necessarily bring that piece in originially, because I knew it would come about. If you like to eat chicken, like some of you have stated, so does Trump, and I don't hate either of you for it. I do believe that it is better for our bodies to stop shoveling meat into our mouths (unless it's cock of course) so much, it is better for the environment, and it is the leading cause of environmental destruction. I also have been critical of Leonardo DiCaprio and other Limousine Liberals on here. So here I will agree with the liberal side on this, and not so much with Trump. That's all I wanted to say. I can't even say something that shows I'm not necessarily your enemy without being ganged up on, so I am going to focus on other stuff because it really seems kinda pointless.

As far as I know, there has been no U.S. president that has EVER been vegan/vegetarian.  And yet I'm sure tons of vegetarians vote and support various presidents.  This is one of your weakest arguments yet, and that's saying something:

Mhorndisk: "I'm vegetarian and think people shouldn't eat meat"
Sutieday: "You support Trump, therefore ARUGMENT INVALID!"

Really?  That's the hill you want to die on here?  This topic has been made so pointlessly tribalistic by you and others here, totally without any valid reason.

And yes, that is sick.  The extreme tribalism you so casually demonstrate is a sickness that has gripped the U.S. and the world at large of late.

I think sutieday was referring to mhorndisk's other vegan thread which was moved to rants and raves.  In that post, mhorndisk actually mentions that he has given trump a pass on his meat-loving.

Social media is filled with vegan Nazis, who declare that meat eaters should be exterminated.

Like with liberalism, you rarely see moderate vegans calling out the fanatics.

I like Vegan Athlete because he's into growing your own, like us.  BUT, you will never see him call out Vegan Gains and "vegan hitler" (don't know her user name, but this is her social media nickname for her extremism) for their calls to fellow vegans to do physical harm to non vegans.  "Good" vegans like to pretend they don't exist or bury their head in the sand about the extremists in their ranks.

                    And?

As I mentioned, no U.S. president has ever been vegan.  You can hardly find a single person you agree with on everything completely, much less a president.  In Sutieday's own words,  that one can't "support veganism whilst also supporting #45" is absurd.

One of the points I wanted to make, is that we all have different lifestyles and philosophies. We don't have to agree on everything. Like Bill Clinton, who went vegan for a while because he was going to die and that was his only option according to the best medical advice he could find. But, do I agree with his other choices? There are accusations that he raped a few girls. I don't even want to say that, but it is there. I don't need Trump to be totally down with smoking pot, or gay marriage, when he's tackling more important issues, in my opinion, in particular the economy. People act like he's going to have us all in the gulag, but that's totally ridiculous. I don't agree with agreeing with you, or else.

Nobody ganged up on you dude.  If you had brought up the agriculture/global warming aspect no one would have protested its presence on this board.  The other jokes were about the subject in general and not made at your expense.  It didn't help that this was one of the umpteenth in a day, including some with very inflammatory titles.  I think you will find your posts better received if you keep them fewer and focused.  Otherwise, the human reaction is to tune out.
And remember not everyone here, or maybe  even most people here will not agree with you.  Don't take it personally.  If you don't attack me personally, I won't attack you personally.
