Must be a cultural thing.  It doesn't bother me nor do I feel uncomfortable.  Most people will take their shoes off if the weather was bad out but other than that I have much more important things to worry about.

Which countries do you live in? In Sweden, we all take our shoes off when entering someone's home. I can't even fathom the idea of walking around indoors with my dirty shoes, that most likely have traces of pet feces and other unpleasant stuff. I shiver at the mere thought of it.

          LOL. Never, never, never.
In Poland everybody HAS to take their shoes off in the corridor. It's just a total must. There are some houses though (like for single-families) that are big with mostly 2 floors, a dog, wooden floor and stuff that people just tell you "don't take your shoes off" and it's okay if the resident allows you. But yeah for me it's obligatory and I always pay attention to that, my guests are always aware of that but yeah I sometimes proclaimed some of my moms guest to just go back to the corridor and take that off.

Not really. But I do feel uncomfortable when it's me who doesn't do it.

It's not something I stress about, particularly with guests. I think it's weird to be walking around wearing shoes in my own house for sure but I'd never ask someone to take off their shoes unless they want to make themselves more comfortable.

                    Doesn't bother me.

Obviously, if you're a long term house guest it'd be weird if you kept your shoes on.

Depends on the shoes. If you had just stomped through a marsh, I'd prefer if you took those shoes off.

Well if he wears boots and uniform, I won't mind.  😊

As an Eastern Asian, I would prefer to take off shoes. But I still walk around with my shoes on. As long as it was not yet or dirty, I do not care. It would bother me a lot if someone wears shoes on my bed though.  :blind:
