God's not quite convinced they're worthy of passing through, and asks each to justify why it should be so.
Bill says, "I know I've sinned, in your eyes, but I truly believe I fulfilled my duties, and served my country well, in spite of it all."
"Very well," God says. "You shall sit at my left."
Then it's Barack's turn. "Overcoming personal adversity, I took office, cleaned the mess left by my predecessor, and helped the country recover, and move forward."
God says, "Barack, you shall sit at my right."
Then God looks Hillary in the eye, and asks, "Now Hillary, what have you to say?"
Without hesitation, she replies, "I believe you're in my seat."
(I heard this some time ago, but it was Al Gore, instead of Obama. I figured Obama's a little more timely. I also heard a good one around that same time, centering on, then President Bush, so it really doesn't have the same impact today; but it was funny back then.)
