Well… addictions tend to have negative impact on your life. Masturbation has naver had any negative effect on me, by the contrary.
It is normal to masturbate. Don't listen to puritan-conservative bullshit on masturbation as an addiction... it only has to be somethning really compulsive to be an addiction (eg. more then... I don't know... 5, 8, 10 times a day or more). -

It's a basic function of the human physiology. You cant just write it off as addiction. It's like saying I'm addicted to breathing. Which I am, but the cure would be much worse
Why do I do it while I could be just having sex? Because the mind can create the perfect scenario, with the perfect actors, playing perfectly the fetishes we might have. There are things that get us off and that only our fantasy can provide. So sure, now and then (not just when my partner isnt available), it does scratch a certain itch.Â
Instead, if you do it just for the sake of doing it while you have a partner sleeping at your side, well… get out of here and get in your partner! Or possibly to couple counseling
