I have a few of them…. They are as follows:

melissophobia - fear of bees... It only took getting stung by a bee once to acquire this fear

trypanophobia - fear of neeles... This one isn't so bad since my HIV diagnosis back in 2009

tomophobia - fear of surgery... This one is largely due to a car accident I had back in 2003 where the drugs that knock me out wore off, but the drugs that paralyze me did not. To this day, I still have recurring nightmares of waking up during surgery.

I don't think this really qualifies as a phobia, but awkwardness seems to have a REALLY bad effect on me. I cant even watch a video or read about an uncomfortable situation without closing the tab.

not sure if it would classify as an actual phobia but i am genuinely afraid of spiders; it can be kind of cool as long as they're not moving tho. and it's weird cause i know that it's irrational (at least in my country where there are no poisonous ones) but still i just lose my mind when i see one lol.

Vertigo, really bad for me. Mate talked me into going up the top of the Tokyo Tower, while holidaying in Japan. I didn't make it far from the elevator just the sight of the view over Tokyo froze me. I dry retched was a disaster had to be helped back into the elevator. It is a terrifying feeling.

I don't know whether it is a phobia or not but whenever I see blood I feel dizzy. I have fainted a few times because of that, once I fainted by seeing my own blood when I got a nosebleed. I got it checked and the doctor said that it is a 'vasovagal syncope' and there is no treatment except that I will grow out of it eventually, till the time I must avoid the situations where I see blood.

The standard approach to treatment is the same as with other phobias - cognitive-behavioral therapy, desensitization, and possibly medications to help with the anxiety and discomfort.

In recent years, the technique known as applied tension, applying tension to the muscles in an effort to increase blood pressure, has increasingly gained favor as an often effective treatment for blood phobia associated with drops in blood pressure and fainting
